o you were talking about that the whole time, i was wondering how were you able to update the supersu without a actual recovery to flash the supersu update zip.
Sorry, for update supersu I use rev 1.99r4, SuperSU from playstore not up to date. Install binary SU in normal mode from SuperSU working like a charm.

But how did you boot into the Recovery?

I can not figure out any way to boot into your ment stock Recovery... Usually Sony did not put a accessable recovery on the Xperia Devices.

Kind regards

I used this new supersu update file (superuser.apk in common folder). When I launch SuperSU, it can't update the su binaries. Rebooting gives the same result. TitaniumBackup cannot work. Any ideas?

Update:
All is well and working on my Z2 tablet.
I re-applied Cummunuty Rootlit (ASEC Vul) - rebooted and SuperSU is working including TB.
Now for recovery........

Awesome, got my Z2 tablet rooted in no time. The only issue is that /system/ won't mount as rw in Terminal (the su command gives me the # prompt; however, no mount command works). Now I can get rid of the bloatware with TiBu lol.

so, root
first
clean ist 402
load http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2804795&d=1403072798
put from towelroot http://towelroot.com tr.apk (click on symbol) in folder "/files"
start install.bat and follow instructions
press make it rain on tab
wait for reboot
supersu.zip and supersu.apk (fromchainfire, apk in folder /commom) copy to tab
install apk
time to TA Backup
and install nut recovery
have fun with root
I did this method on my spg512 with .36 and it worked fine. I am now getting an update notification for .402. I would like to update for the screen fixes but does that mean I lose root again or is it safe. Is there a root protector that works such as Voodoo? Also, what is 'Nut Recovery"? and where do i find it?

Thanks!

I have rooted the tab with the towelroot method on .402, but as i see, that doesn't grant write permissions to /system and i can't install xposed.
Is there any way to fix that?

I am having same issue. SU says it needs to be updated but fails. It also wont let itself be unistalled. I dont understand how to apply the updated SU files. I have stock SPG512 except for rooted using towel utility.

Steps would be appreciated!

Thanks

Is the Z2 nut recovery compatible with the tablet? Judging by the thread it doesn't look like it was tested on the tablet yet.

Im sorry to be dense, but what do you mean when you say "copy on tab"? I have the zip on the tablet still in zip form. Do I need to unzip it to somewher specific?

sorry,
you must supersu.apk extract to tab (from folder /commom in the zip)
and the supersu.zip to tab
this after reboot from let it rain
install supersu.apk and start after install

This is working for me now:

i) used xsacha v11 script to gain rw access/backup TA
ii) used community rootkit (ASEC vulnerability) to update supersu / su binaries
iii) installed TB - requested root and working perfectly
iv) installed other root required apps - all working well
