Check ur model number correctly.. And proceed as far as i know h870 has a official method to unlock bootloader
Root for all models that don't have it...

It's definitely the H870. The reason I can't unlock is because of my region.
Cross region firmwares xan be flashed provided ur using the correct model number built kdz s ... So research a bit more u can possibly unlock the bootloadet
Okay I'm busy downloading the H870 EU KDZ. I'll flash it later. Will I lose my data if I flash?
No. But if you restore factory it will.
But its recommended to restore factory to avoid issues.
But will I be able to unlock if I flash the EU KDZ? Because I've been looking around threads and some people said it's impossible to unlock. I think I'll give it a shot though.
It's not possible even by flashing the KDZ of other regions, the LG Devs page request Device Id and IMEI, these are bounded to the hardware not to the software, so it will still state that you are a non EU H870.
This is what I also thought. I hope there would be an unofficial way cause I do not want to stay on the stock ROM.
I have quite a few G6es that I would be willing to sacrifice in an effort to get this conversion/root thing out to the public. Ready and willing, if @runningnak3d needs someone. I have access to both a Mac and a PC, and that PC can be booted into Linux if needed. I'm competent enough that if you were to just dump steps on me and ask me if it worked, I'd be able to intelligently respond.

I hope there's a way for our G6's to be unlocked. LG's skin slows down this phone so a custom ROM would be perfect.
Acquired a US997 (bootloader unlockable) G6 today, in addition to my healthy supply of Sprint G6es in the event that it makes things easier for @runningnak3d if he opts to use me as the guinea pig.
Would you be willing to loan me a Sprint G6? I can send it back to you rooted...
That would make this SO much easier since I could go through the process and document it as I am doing it.
I have tried working with a couple of people and let's just say that doesn't work out well
If not, I am about ready to buy one off eBay just so I can put this project to bed. I am sure you guys would like it finished as well.. lol

thanks for your hardworkTrue. LG's skin makes this phone lag and rhe front camera is atrocious. Luckily I tried out some GCAM ports which makes a huge difference. I have the H870, but can't root due to my region. If this project is a success I'm instantly installing a custom ROM.I hope your project success !!
