Extracted the nandroid zip to TWRP/BACKUPS folder. But still nothing shows up in Restore menu. How to solve this?

EDIT: So, for those trying to restore Nandroid, copy the extracted backup to TWRP > BACKUPS > XT1706 folder.

TWRP flashing not working

Step 1 to 4 was done as instructed but when i tried to boot into recovery using power + volume down i get a Chinese menu recovery. No signs of twrp even though had got message of successful installation in command prompt window. Please help. Thanks in advance.

PLZ FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT IGNORE ANY OF THEM
prerequisites : adb and fastboot on desktop
1. grab files

on your pc
2. Enable developer settings then in developer settings enable oem unlocking
3. To put your mobile into fastboot mode hold power but + volume up button you will get a menu plz read the instructions given on the screen before proceeding
4. now connect the mobile to your desktop
execute the following commands
"fastboot oem unlock"
be sure to execute this command - "fastboot format userdata"
now go to the folder where you have stored the files on your PC
press shift+right click then select "open command window here"
execute
"fastboot flash recovery TWRP_3.0.2.2-moto_E3_power.img "

5. now boot your device into recovery mode
now from your pc send the supersu zip file to your phone inside the TWRP folder
now unplug your mobile
in twrp select install
the path would be /sdcard/twrp
now choose the supersu file and flash it.

this whole process will erase previous data
now reboot i will take about 5 mins
okay so i just posted this tutorial on the request of someone the main work was done by "dr.faramroze"
at any point you feel stuck pm me.

after you are done rooting also grab this file "https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/no-verity-opt-encrypt-3.2.zip"
and flash it using twrp.

Is your device a plain Moto E3 (not E3 power)? I think you're probably hitting the Lenovo Test Mode menu (blue with yellow characters on it), that is what happened to me when I tried power+vol down. Unfortunately, despite this being the Moto E3 forum, most of th einfo here (and pretty much everywhere) is for the E3 power, which is obviously different enough that they key combos are different.

To get to recovery, try power+vol up instead, this will give you a small text menu to select recovery, fastboot or normal boot mode. You can boot recovery from there, but if you have a plain E3 like I do, you'll probably find that you still only have the stock recovery installed. If you get the broken android with "No Command" message, press power+vol up a few more times to get to the stock recovery (looks a bit like old CWM but it will have the device firmware build number at the top).

I don't have a solution for getting TWRP to boot yet, I can't even get it to boot using "fastboot boot twrp.img".

Ok. I have finally rooted this phone. First we need to do a simpIe bootloader unlock from fastboot. I have compiled a stable version of TWRP 3.0.2 from raw sources. Just flash the recovery by fastboot command. "fastboot flash recovery TWRP_3.0.2.2-moto_E3_power.img" and boot into recovery from fastboot. Flash SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip because it will automatically patch the boot img.

We can make CM 12.1/CM 13/CM 14 because they are fully working on mt6735 devices. They are very stable. I am ready with the kitchen if I get some help.

4. Factory reset first
5. Restore system
6. Reboot system from TWRP

I had to install the same after my phone got stuck in the moto boot logo. This happened after i flashed. a nandroid backup of my phone . What could be the reason?
After having installed the nandroid stock backup of drfaramroze i get an OTA software update notiification. This could not be installed as i have twrp in my phone. how to revert back to stock recovery ? Please help @dr.faramroze or anyone..

TWRP

I am unable to install TWRP on my E3 Power (XT1706) (taido). It gets flashed successfully using fastboot but displays message "USB Transmission OK" on screen. TWRP doesn't get flashed through fastboot. I'm only getting the stock recovery when I get to the recovery menu.
