Hello I have been running this smoothly for years. As of lately i'm having issues, i need to update the PRL. MMS no longer working.

Is the a flushable PRL zip around anywhere?
Or does anyone know how I can update the PRL/Profile to continue using this?

Thank You

I successfully rooted my S7 with jrkruse/billa files a couple months ago. Thanks for all the support you guys give here.

The S7 had a verizon SIM when I wrote the new F/W and eng_boot and that works fine but now I need to switch to a Tracfone (verizon) SIM. If I just pop in the TF SIM I get the notification in the first picture then it tries to update but then it fails and I end up at the 2nd picture (dm_verity failed). From there I can reboot but it never updates for the Tracfone SIM. I don't have a password or google account set up on this phone.

BTW, I have another S7 that is verizon branded stock F/W and when I put this same TF SIM in it, it works fine without having to update.

Any thoughts, can I just flash a different CSC or should I just start over and reflash entire sequence with the Tracfone SiM installed?

The new sim carrier change/update is completely normal with the unbranded "U" firmware, however it shouldn't fail. There are two solutions:

1. First, flash it from scratch with the "U" bootloader version "A/10" (5th digit from the right) firmware contained in the rooting guide. Without rooting it insert the new sim card, and let it do the carrier change/update (blue screen). Once that process has completed successfully, then root it as per the guide.

2. Download the "V" Verizon bootloader version "A/10" (5th digit from the right) firmware below (do not flash "B/11" because there's no way to downgrade!), which won't change/update the carrier based with a new sim carrier, then root it as per the guide.

The PRL has nothing to do with MMS (it only affects the signal), something probably got messed up in your phone's setting due to trying different messaging apps (most common issue), or the carrier may have changed something in their servers. I would suggest reflashing and rooting it from scratch as per the guide.

So (just to confirm what I've learned from this thread) - in 2021, for Galaxy S7 Oreo 8.0 (I have G930VVRUACSH1) there is still no other solution except using eng-bootloader, which is far-far from perfect. Am I correct?

Hey there,

Searched for the baseband, you have an S7 SM-G930P, with security patch from April 2018, bootloeader 6 I believe, should definitely be rootable!

Good luck bud!
Thank you man, also if you have a link for a good rooting guide for this phone I would highly appreciate it. This would save me a lot of time tomorrow after I get off work.

*** This root should work on ANY model G930/G935 A/P/Rx/T/V/U with bootloader version Rev.A/10 or lower. ***
*** DO NOT update to the latest firmware with bootloader Rev.B/11 or higher, it's not rootable at this time, and cannot be downgraded! ***
*** Follow this rooting guide carefully to the letter, do NOT skip or switch up any steps! ***
*** You MUST start from scratch by flashing the firmware UUESACSI1 Rev.A/10 included in this guide, do not skip this step! ***
*** Start from Step#1 through Step#4 and you should be able to root your phone successfully. ***

If your current firmware has a bootloader Rev.B/11 or higher (ex. G930UUESxCSI1 "x" is the 5th digit from right to left is "B-Z"), then there's no way to root it or downgrade it, don't waste your time you'll just have to wait till a solution comes out. If your current firmware has a bootloader Rev.A/10 or lower (ex. G930UUESxCSI1 "x" is the 5th digit from right to left is an "A" or lower "0-9"), then follow the rooting method below.

Step#1
Start by refashing your phone with the latest rootable stock firmware (UUESACSI1) located below.
Keep in mind that all your data will be erased, therefore back it up to an SDcard using Samsung Smart Switch.
Enter download mode by holding down Vol Down + Home + Power for about 10-15 seconds.
Use the patched Odin below for all operations, under the PIT tab select the PIT file extracted from the "CSC_OYM_G93xxx.tar" file.
Under the Options tab select Auto-Reboot + NAND Erase + Repartition + F.Reset.
Select the proper files for BL, AP, CP, and for CSC use the non-HOME CSC file, then press Start.
Right before the flashing is done, hold down Vol Up + Home + Power to get into recovery.
Do a full Factory Data+Cache reset, set up the phone and continue on with this guide.

Step#2
Enable ADB Debugging (and OEM Unlock if available) in Settings > Developer Options, and run the script below, in order to avoid the constant re-booting and OTA updates after flashing the eng-boot.
Run the batch file below, some of the commands will fail which is perfectly normal, just disregard it.

Step#3
Flash the eng-boot and let it sit there for about 30 minutes without touching the phone, then again enable ADB Debugging in Settings > Developer Options.

Step#4
Try the two root methods below, and see which one works best for you (courtesy of JRKruse)
You must redo everything from Step#1 again after trying each one at a time (do not run both on top of each other!).
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410932744536990173
Run Setup.exe, select (4) Simple ADB Root (do not play around with any of the other options!)
OR
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603904440
Run Root.bat
If your phone acts wonky, slow, or lagging, you may run some kernel tweaks, SEFIX, etc.
Keep in mind, this is the best we have at this time without a bootloader unlock.
If you're looking for custom recovery, Magisk, SuperUser Hide, and no lag then consider getting the international versions G930F/G935F with unlocked bootloader.
Mine is G930VVRUACSF2. Which files should I use? Thanks!

Hey @Snows2w

This is the guide to use, just make sure to download the file for the G930 variant.

Hi,

Yes, you can, you'd flash the unlocked firmware instead of using the Verizon firmware, then follow the next steps.

Mine is also an G930V but flashed the G930U firmware to get rid of the bloatware, but can't root right now unfortunately :(

Hope this helps!
Thanks. Can't root right now? You meant Step 4 won't work for you? I thought the whole method was get G930 rooted.
