Here ya go :D

Hey can you throw me a odin flashable stock recovery so I don't have to completely reflash stock again? I've done it so many times now LMAO
No need, just install Flashfire then open the stock firmware with FLASHFIRE and select to just install the recovery.

I'll take a look at these when I can. Can't do it tonight.

I appreciate the work you're doing on this phone so much! Once I can get twrp running I plan on making a deodexed and debloated rom, an maybe try porting lineage, but my skills aren't there yet lol

I've actually tried quite a few things and nothing worked... I got the hotspot to come on. But dns server not working. I did tether provision build prop edit and adb the global tether dun setting. So yeah doesn't shut off saying I don't have it. But it's not working once connected. No internet connection.

What's wierd is I got this phone because I can root it but no tethering so far. My Stylo 3 I couldn't root but at least I could tether. I hope someone figures this out because I'm stumped.

The apn type and adding dun use to work.... I made a thread on it. I'm still able to get my msl code but all the apns are greyed out and you can't edit any of them now.
With that said.........
So far I have found out the apn-conf.xml in /system folder. I can edit and save with no problem...... now in that file at the top it say it must match the res/common/xml/apn.xml or something very similar to that. It took my awhile to find this file but I have FOUND IT!!! (If you use apk editor and select the menu button to view system files/apks). Look for servicemode.apk and browse that .apk, in the /res/xml folder you will find the apns.xml file!!! I found apn-editor.xml and apn-settings.xml in the settings all also

I downloaded APKS Editor in the play store and started poking around. The file is a system all called servicemode.apk, if you decompile the file and check the res folder and look in the xml folder TADA, YOU WILL FIND THE APNS.XML file....... so that's as far as I have got. When viewing this APN.XML file I can't figure out how to edit it to match the system/apns-conf.xml file.
Now in the apk editor you can view the strings or files..... I used the file option and looked at all the strings..... they can be edited.
ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! I looked thru the settings and service mode til all also so I'm getting confused and maybe a fresh pair of eyes and a clear mind can help figure this out. I been trying along time now!

This worked for me

So I brought back my J3 and bought this: SM-J727P Galaxy J7 Perx TD-LTE / Galaxy J7 2017
Is there any way to root this yet? I couldn't find anything.
I'd love a DE-bloated ROM too but I know it doesn't exist yet.
thanks for any help.
To root the J7 Perx, I did this: (remove the spaces in the links because it won't let me post a link)
1. On your phone, download the magisk zip file: htt ps://github.c om/topjoh nwu/Magisk/releases/download/v16.0/Magisk-v16.0.zip
2. Power off
On your computer:
1. Download an application called odin: htt ps://odindownload.c om/download/Odin3_v3.12.3.zip
2. Download TWRP for the J7 Perx: htt ps://dl.twrp.m e/j7popltespr/twrp-3.2.1-1-j7popltespr.img.tar
3. Install odin
4. Boot the phone into download mode (Power + Vol down + home) then press volume up
5. Open odin and plug your phone in, making sure OEM is unlocked and USB debugging is enabled on your phone (both found in developer options)
6. Click AP, then find your .img.tar file you downloaded in step 2
7. Click start
8. When the setup is complete, your phone's screen will go black and it will vibrate. As soon as it vibrates, unplug the phone and take the battery out IMMEDIATELY. This prevents your phone from reverting back to its stock custom recovery. If you don't, you will have to restart the process.
9. Pop the battery back in to your phone, then hold Power + Vol up + home. you should see "recovery booting... set warranty bit:recovery"
10. Teamwin will load
11. Continue through setup then click Install, then go to sdcard>download or wherever you downloaded the magisk zip file
12. It will install magisk
13. reboot>system and you should be good to go
NOTE: *This can damage your device. If you mess up, I am not responsible*
PS. if you get caught in a bootloop like i did, reinstall magisk or just install the stock rom

3.12 should be fine.
There something odd going on with the kernel source.
I'm not sure why the kernel refuses to boot at the moment, it maybe be related to AVB. I'll have to look into that.

However its logs I need and for that root is required.
I should be able to get SuperSU to install using the twrp version in post #7, but I need you to confirm that you can mount system in TWRP?

Does anyone think wether or not the system could be booted through a configured IP networked carrier? Because when I try to run adb shell [enter] then kill Unix 3 it tells me permission denied. Just curious

Ok seeing as no-one could be bothered to respond to my post I'm just gonna leave this here.

It may boot it may not? It may not even install if this device has a locked bootloader.
If it does then great, report any issues along with the recovery log.
If it doesn't then descriptive information is required along with screenshots where possible. Anybody who simply posts generic 'NOT WORKING' will be ignored.

It flashed just fine, but will not boot. The partitions seem to be off as you can not access microsd, or internal storage and wipe gets permission denied errors for usb otg and microsd. Thanks for working on this...I tried porting it but it didn't even flash:crying:
You say it doesn't boot, but it clearly has, confused?

Also the errors I'm seeing is what I expected using the stock kernel.
The next build will be using a custom built kernel and all those issues should be fixed.

The internal storage won't mount until the /data partition is FORMATTED to remove encryption.

    Thanks for testing and reporting.

Ok, so I'm back on with TWRP. Made a few config changes to the kernel.
