still not able to root the phone

Everything works fine here
But that's old news now, no need to bug with flashing zip's


ROOT for LOCKED bootloaders
1)Flash(if you didn't already) 4.0.4(4.1.B.0.431) ICS and boot phone (links are in post#1)
1.1) turn usb debugging on
1.2) allow unknown sources
1.3) select MSC mode (settings->Xperia->connectivity->USB connection mode->MSC mode)
2)Flash kernel from 4.0.3(4.1.A.0.562) ICS and boot phone. Flash only kernel, don't wipe anything!
Note: in settings->about phone: nothing will change, nor kernel version, nor the build number (That is OK)
3)download DooMLoRD's Rooting Toolkit for Xperia 2011 ICS [FW:.562]: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
read instructions and root your phone

4)flash back kernel from 4.0.4(4.1.B.0.431) ICS. Flash only kernel, don't wipe anything!

p.s. yes, this works for both, Neo and Neo V.
For Neo users, in step 2, you use kernel from Neo V of course. And, Neo users, don't worry about errors when booting with .562 kernel.
If you don't see your contacts after importing them, go to menu->filter-> and play with settings here.

End of story.
Enjoy in your rooted phone with locked bootloader.

In case someone is afraid that his finger will slip and that he will wipe something while flashing only kernel, I uploaded ftf's with only kernel.

obviously nt rooted....while rooting only ut is giving the error..neways..finally i.solved the prob...using sdk...thnx

Downloaded this stock (587), flashed it and rooted it with Eroot and installed CWM. Now I can always go back to this after trying out custom roms.

Performance-wise, this stock ICS gives me lag unlike the stock GB. But I think that's understandable

Unlocked bootloader? If so try the sjb Rom. They are not super popular but imo the best ROMs for the Xperia 2011 devices. Make sure you get the right thread as they are divided over several threads, one for each device.

look..i tried two three links..but it wasnt working..after tht i posted this comment....coz i was helpless...but now i hv sjb rom v6.0 installed..thnx for ur support...and one suggestion...if u dnt hv tht instinct of helping others..atleast dnt spam such good pages..and ya i m nt a noob..i hv tried 6 roms on my galaxy 3...and 5 on xperia neo v...so..dnt underestimate....i was trying to save time..thts it..

Hi. I have the same problem with batery, all time is 100%, problem is with all versions Ice cream 4.0.4
2.3.4 working OK and 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 working OK. sorry for my english

i flash stock rom.... 587 ice cream and it not help,next flash.... 62 stock 2.3.4 gingerbread and working ok, when I lock bootloader and update using pc suite to 4.0.4 , problems with battery back, first start phone after update and battery status is ok half power, but after restart phone show 100%. I can use only 2.3.4 or jelly bean(4.1.2 or 4.2.2), all 4.0.4 stock or mod not working good

same here! it's always show 100% then drain to 0% i wiped full + flashed stock firmware and kernel+rom 2,3 times but it still >.<

You did wipe battery status too? try this if not did yet.
