I post here all way I found on the web in order to root the S4 Active i9295 (international version) NOT AT&T version
I remind you that S4 Active have a knox security which is supposed to secure our data, in fact it's a way for Samsung to void our constructor's warranty if we change the firmware / software part of the phone as root, custom recovery, install a ROM from another than Samsung or from an other country than the phone ( more precisely baseband) origin. If you active knox's flag, a binary will be change from 0 to 1 into the motherboard of the phone and this is irriversible. But I found also that : http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:31999L0044:FR:NOT (choose your language by the links in the tab). This European directive says that a constructor CAN'T VOID our legal warranty of 1 or 2 years if we change the software part of our item (terminal as tab, laptop... here smart phone)
Odin way with cf-auto-root file : http://www.phonandroid.com/forum/root-du-samsung-galaxy-s4-active-gt-i9295-t62684.html This method ACTIVE knox's flag to 0 x 1 In French

http://wccftech.com/guide-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s4-active-gt-i9295-sgh-i337/
In English
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...i9295-root-anleitung-mit-custom-recovery.html
In German

With KingoRoot software (that I tested and it works) : http://www.kingoapp.com/ this method doesn't active knox's flag but if you have a too updated version of android, kingoroot can says "It is impossible to root your device by employing exploits. Next, we will try to root it by flashing custom recovery through odin mode wich will void your warranty claim." CANCEL IMMEDIATELY, it means that if you continue the knox's flag will be actived.

Tuto : http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/173493-tutoroot-en-conservant-knox-0x0/ in French

And a last method that I haven't tryed : http://www.geekyguides.com/root-your-samsung-galaxy-s4-active-with-this-easy-method/ from this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTC7muLX5jM

Good Luck for your root ! I hope that my thread will help you. And as usual, it's at your own risks, I can't be responsible of a false manipulation.
I wait your returns !

But inteenational s4a still dont have knox activated in bootloader if you doesnt have 4.4.2, if you have 4.2.2 and root it even with custom recovery in download mode there is no knox warranty bit. So if you have 4.2.2 and no knox in download mode you can root it without thinking about knox. Yes? I rooted mine and than unrooted, I dont have knox bit so I still have warranty, yes or no?

I'm not sure but I would think that it would still trip a flash counter or void the warranty somehow through recovery. There's ways to undo this and/or cover your tracks, but I'm not too knowledgeable on the subject.

I waited for this question ! ...
Like all software which root / crack a firmware are considered as "Trojan" by a part of anti-virus, it's false as I tested on my PC, did buying on internet (Amazon, Ebay...) and all is good. I remind you that isn't my software but one than I found during my searches about S4 Active (i9295)'s root.

Surely, but I had to update to 4.2.2 in order to get frequencies of Free (French operator) on 4G and I watch on samsung website and they said there is Knox "Protection" to company into the S4 Active i9295

I personally just love the links leading to sites, where you can download something and win iPhone, 10years of free shopping or 1000virgins for your private use for 5 years (with 2 years warranty on their virginity, what doesn't affect your statutory rights).

Or, to call the things simply and straight: to the sites which are stealing your personal data: address, email, phone etc.

The price is not worth download.

I bought my Active in cash for 440 euro and with 3 year legal warranty. But stock 4.2.2 is so laggy and stupid and pissed me out.I want to root it and flash some .4.4.2 custom but only, only if Im sure to may return to stock and use warranty. It have too many problems with water damaged phones, flappy usb covers and other. For these reasons I want to keep warranty.

This may be very very important.I look into it deeper.

Has anyone tried to root the latest 4.2.2 firmware for S4 Active i9295, namely I9295XXUBML3?
Chainfire Autoroot is detected by that frickin' Knox, which makes the phone unusable.
Kingoroot doesn't work either.
Does anybody know a working method?

The last is BNC2 according samsung-updates: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9295

The normal file that I've been used doesn't work with this firmware version, so i tryed the file that is for the 4.4.2 versions (Kitkat) and worked! (DOWNLOAD HERE) The only thing i did is install manually super su from the Google Play and all done! :good:

BNC2 is for New Zealand only, for specific network reasons I think.
Anyway, for my European needs, BML3 is ok.

Which file are you referring to, CF-Auto-Root? For S4 9505 you mean? Because S4 9295 didn't get KitKat yet.
So you pushed it through Odin and then separately installed SuperSU, which should have been installed by CF-Auto-Root?

I tried SAFESTRAP-JFLETATT-ACTIVE-3.65.apk

Isn't the right? Tried to use it on 4.2.2 stock rom...

Gesendet von meinem aktiven GT-I9295... ;)
Yeah but, you see, "JFLETATT" itself says that the phone needs to be "ATT" (namely AT&T version), aka i537.
The rest of us free people, with unlocked bootloaders, use i9295. You do too. So no wonder safestrap didn't work.
That is the reason I was so intrigued...
