how do i flash this with Odin? i dont have root yet because of the damn OEM inlock and 7 days wait period. infact i have waited for more than a month, no sign of OEM

Guys, here is the absolutely easiest way of rooting your Galaxy S9/S9+:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-development/rom-u1arc5-devbase-v5-2-t3764822

This is a custom ROM but in fact it's a 99% stock ROM with bloatware removed. You just download a ZIP file (both Android 8 and 9 are available), flash it with TWRP or Odin and you are done! All apps and files are untouched (i.e. you keep all your app, setting and files, there is no need for wipe or factory reset). You can even keep full device encryption which is a unique feature for rooted Samsung phone!

I had rooted Android 8, then flashed this ROM (Oreo), then flashed the same ROM (PIe) with encryption and everything is working flawlessly.

If you don't see the option there is no way of rooting because the bootloader will block the install from Odin. Maybe if you flash the latest official firmware it will reappear.

I think I have to be on Oreo for this to work. I am presently on Pie. ??
Sure man. Follow this and let me know if it worked for you or not.

Hello first of all thank you for figuring out a way. It seems people are having trouble with newer OEM firmwares. I just got my s9 today and i did not update when prompted. instead searched how to root. I just want to clarify that i wont ruin my phone if i attemp your method. I am on Baseband version G960U1UES3ARJ6 my kernel version is from october 22 2018. do i need to update to a newer version to root or should this one work for me? I am new to the android version lingo and would appreciate if someone could steer me in the right direction or inform me. ive been on an s5 for a couple years and a s4 for 4 years before that so i am new to the newer android stuff.
