Root H830 WITH TOT file

So i followed all directions i unlocked bootloader/rooted/twrp/su/ on 10a but i also flashed fluence 10d rom and patch, then i had no sound.. So i panic'd and used the LG UP and flashed the 10a+root tot file and now im stuck on the triangle screen and i can't boot to Twrp recovery, does this mean I've lost root for good? I know that "upgrading" via OTA i wouldn't be able to roll back, but i didn't know "flashing" would permanently not let me reflash back 10a, i wanted to debloat so bad... Not i have nothing...
If anyone could help i would appreciate it, im using the tmobile variant...

Yes, unfortunately so until there is a 10D root tot file created.

So i found out i still have twrp, but when i boot to system after flashing any rom it boots back to twrp.. *Sighs* can you help me please!![emoji120]

If stuck in TWRP bootloop, just use the terminal feature in TWRP and type these commands:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/fota

Let me know if this fixes it.

Also, procedure = flash with LGUP, catch it to go to twrp after it finishes, flash SuperSU? What about dm-verity?

What do you mean "catch it"? Just pull the batter when its done at the lg logo and button boot into twrp. Then dm file then su (is how I did it)

ROOT CONFIRMED + How To Root Guide!



How to:

Step 1) Install LGUP H830_DLL and LG Mobile Driver Once all 3 have installed on your PC, reboot your PC

Step 2) Download the Rooted 10D TOT and extract it (if you don't have software that can handle a RAR file, I recommend you use 7-Zip)

Step 3) Power your G5 off (or pull out the Battery) then connect your charger to your PC. Once your charger is plugged it, plug it into your device while holding the volume up button. This will place your device into "Download Mode". Now open LGUP (Run as administrator) then make sure to select your device. Once you've selected your device, select "UPGRADE" then in the section below it, click the File Path area and select the TOT you got from extracting the RAR and click "Start".

Step 4) As your device begins to flash, download DM-Verity Disabler and SuperSU

Step 5) Once your device reboots, pull the battery out of it for about 5 seconds then put it back into the device and enter TWRP (Hold volume down + power button and make sure to hold it as the device boots then after about 1 second release the power button and push it down again, then say "Yes" to factory reset for both prompts). Once in TWRP wipe your data partition TWICE (wipe > advanced > Data) then install SuperSU and DM-Verify Disabler.

Step 6) Reboot

Note: If you get stuck inside of TWRP (even though your reboot, you boot back into TWRP) run these commands in the terminal (Advanced > Terminal)

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/fota
reboot

Ah, yeah, catch it before it reboots. I didn't think of pulling the battery! This is what I get for having non-replaceable batteries for years in a row.

TOT worked on my second attempt! Not sure what I did wrong the first time. I think I forgot to wipe data twice. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!
Thankfully, this new TOT can be reflashed at any time to fix your mistakes. It might not always be this easy...

You guys are amazing. So if I'm donating, who deserves it for this? Tungkick and autoprime for sure, anyone else help get the 10d tot working? I'm broke so it's not going to pay your kids through college or anything, but you guys deserve recognition and I don't think the forum thanks button suffices.
