Is the LGUP_H830 DLL Windows 10 compliant? I can't get device manager to use it with the phone in download mode :(

EDIT
Nevermind, got it working.

Do we need drivers? My surface pro 3 is not detecting my g5.
Please help.

Yes you will need the proper drivers. Check autoprime's all-in-one page for info on that. Everyone should take a chance and read that page. He provides a lot of detail to get these applications working.

adb devices shows phone.

adb reboot bootloader reboots to bootloader.

fastboot oem unlock returns waiting for device.

fastboot getvar unlocked/all returns the same. PLZ HELP!

Just like that. You are having a driver issue, which is why it is not showing up in fastboot. I had a similar problem when I went to use the LG UP tool to flash the TOT and the drivers from the link I gave you solved my issue. One other option you can try is using the tool found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118#post48915118

This has worked for me in the past on other computers. Give it a go, and see if it fixes your driver issue.

Tried reinstalling as I had already installed before but no avail.

Device Manager doesn't recognize it, and fastboot returns same.

Edit: also tried changing usb ports.

Edit 2: Running from desktop as abd is installed system wide.
