Root H830 WITH TOT file

I just fixed it. I followed this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/bring-lg-g5-to-life-download-mode-lgup-t3565508
I didn't need uppercut.
I used the kdz file I mentioned in the previous post. Android is currently starting loading on that phone. I figured I'd share it in this thread in case anyone else has the same issue.

Excuse me sir.. my 830 on lock bootloader.. but my volume down button is broken.. is there any chance i can use ur method to root my h830 without any step to press the volume down button? Ty before

There are some system checks that prevent you from going from a 20 system (Nougat) to a 10 system (Marshmallow) using this method. You'll have to look at the recowvery threads on how to get recovery and root on 20A first.

You can go back to MM, but there are a few steps in between you have to do.

This method is a bit outdated. You should look more into the recowvery exploit to be used on the 20A firmware.

done upgrading to oreo, now I cant flash anything there and cant even flash twrp, root and 20a kdz from LGUP it get crash at 4%. will this TOT help me in anyways and start from a scratch>?

There were quite a few people posting about getting stuck at 4% when trying to use LGUP to get back to 20A KDZ. If you search for that, maybe you'll find a solution. Maybe in the LGUP or Uppercut threads.

I just bought a G5 H830 with Android 8 installed. Flashing like described doesn't work, I always get "invalid command response code" error. Maybe this happens because of Android 8 installed? I tried the newest LGUP and DLL files I could find. But the tot file is from 2016... Should I try to flash back to Android 6 too unlock it and then upgrade again to 8? Any suggestions?

Second this. LG blocked flashing with tot files a long time ago on other devices so it's probably been blocked with an update somewhere since this was released

I'm surprised you have a g5 with a version that old, but I believe you need to be on 10d for this to work.
