Great work! I am curious, does this open the way for custom roms or will we only be able to use stock rooted?

Check the main LG G5 thread, there is already an H830 rom.Great work! I am curious, does this open the way for custom roms or will we only be able to use stock rooted?
My time has been incredibly limited but I'm hoping to bring a custom rooted stock rom and something Aosp/cm related up eventually. I just don't know when I'll have substantial time - I still haven't rooted my g5, lol. Work/school/life has been hectic for months. But considering that I own the h830, that's the only thing I'll be building for.Great work! I am curious, does this open the way for custom roms or will we only be able to use stock rooted?

after reporting 100% update LgUp crashed.
Phone booted, but I cannot go into TWRP, getting green android with red triangle instead.
Words of wisdom are appreciated.
Here ya goI don't mean to be a bother but does anyone have a video of themselves rooting their G5? For some reason my phone does recognize itself but can't get adb working.
Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Tungkick created the modified tot based off of a stock tot arjuna_ had created off his fully wiped phone, at a repair shop. At that time he had a stock recovery tot made and I packed twrp into the stock tot. Tungkick put it all together and made it a full flashable tot with twrp recovery. He worked his magic just as he did for the V10 community.do we have an exact source on who created the modified TOT file we're putting on the phone via LGup? Just want to know what was done to make it root-able
THANK You. I see where I was going wrong now. You're a lifesaver!!Here ya go

This is precisely what I did. Except cannot boot into TWRP. Maybe it is not there..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66998451&postcount=93
I found the OP rather hard to follow and had to start over as well. Doing what the post I linked says everything went very smooth.
Thank you for this. The moment it booted into TWRP instead of booting the OS, I went in search to fix my issue. Tried this first, and all went well. Now taking my first backup to tuck away safely. Much appreciated.Just use the terminal feature in TWRP and type these commands:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/fota
sorry if bootloader can not unlock@tungkick plz root h818 lg g4 ... we really need root in android 6 .tnx
