You arent letting go of volume right? Just power....

Also if you do get it, and you have a completely stock Tmo G5... can you do a TWRP backup? I need it....
Wow, you da man, thank you :) That worked, for some reason I thought I was supposed to unpress both the Vol Down Key +_ Power Button . But holding down Vol Dwn the entire time, and just briefly letting go of Power once is what I needed to do.

For future reference, if still connected to your computer via usb you can also type adb reboot recovery from a terminal/command prompt.

So now we just wait for the T-Mobile ROM's to bake up ? Im running that FluencySEVEN patch thing right now. Its nice, but can't wait until official kernels and ROM release for our phone.

I have Windows 10 and cannot get the phone to show up for the adb shell. I have tried the drivers linked throughout the thread, I have tried the 15 second install version 1.4.3. When I plug the phone into the computer it is recognized as G5 in the portable devices.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction to get the phone recognized in adb?

Please help.

Ok I got pretty far through the process of rooting and installing TWRP on my new T-Mobile G5, but got stuck in TWRP when trying to reboot the first time after doing the LGUP .tot flashing part.

So I do the upgrade thing in the LGUP - H830 program, it's going through the process %, and then around 80% or so, I hear the computer make that USB beep sound, and the phone starts rebooting, and into TWRP Recovery now. I thought it's supposed to boot back up and show me the Welcome startup screen after 100% flashed ? But I'm in TWRP recovery while it's still going through like 90% on the LGUP thing ? And I haven't even gotten to the point of putting the SuperSU zip or the encrypt zip on the phone yet to flash.

I powered down the phone, turn it back on, and goes straight to TWRP. Now what ?
Follow the OP and use the scripts for twrp bootloop.. It happens to me first time too..

So you're stuck in the boot loop of twrp right?

Okay everyone IF you are stuck in TWRP bootloop after going %100 from the LG Up software, just use the terminal feature in TWRP and type these commands: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc

Now can someone let me know if there is a Xposed Framework for the LG G5 and how do I install it.

Update Java SDK to latest edition fixed my issues.
