All ways somewhere arround
I am sorry I didn't read all the thread and directly posted my thing.

I have a Honor-6x BLN-L21C185 which doesn't have FM radio in (it had it once) but after I used the Firmware finder to upgrade to 7.0, I lost FM radio and now my device also doesn't show any OTA updates, it's security patch date is stopped at April 2017.

Since I don't want to stay on 6.0 so I think I'll need the TWRP backup files for my device too.
Some body show me a way to root my honor 6x BLN-L21C185, but let me know first whether it is possible to roll back to EMUI 4.1 6.0.1. Any out there has the flash able backup of the B130 or B131? I wish to root and then go back to B130 or B131 and then OTA update my device.

What are the rooting tools BTW for Honor 6x?

Okay so I'm currently rooted and have the twrp installed. I'm on emui 4.1. With firmware BLN - L22 C675B 132.

How do i upgrade to nougat. Or something where volte works?
You need to flash stock boot.img and stock recovery.img first. @shashank1320 may help you on the files.

No. I don't have any files on me. AFIK my phone came with the above version number software and I used the method mentioned by OP to root it. And yes, I did follow the bootloader unlock procedure mentioned by the OP.

Basically which files do I need to download from the repository? Even the recoveries and the rest only mention L20 and not L22.

Hi guys,
Sorry for the noob question but is there a way to root, and still receive OTA updates?

I just want to install an ad blocking hosts file. I don't want to install custom roms yet.

You will get OTA but wont be able to install as with root, you modify the boot image and also ota won't Insta if twrp is there.
So to be able to install OTA, you need to unroot, flash stock boot, stock recovery then download the OTA and install.

Thanks for the answer. So there's no way to change hosts file without losing official updates? Can I install the update manually?

Yes. You can always use dload method to flash the full firmware for upcoming OTA but that will relock bootloader and replace twrp with stock.
No way to change host file without root

if i do that to get OTA, the new update will lock my bootloader? or will lock only on dload mode?
