I returned my Nvidia Shield Tablet under warranty for a cracked edge and the replacement I received had Android 5.0.1. I used Kingroot 4.1 and it worked perfectly!

I've searched for KingUser, but it isn't in my system. I did flash SuperSU 2.46 after flashing the 3.0 OTA and it is fine.

Was working fine in Shield Tablet 5.1 (3.0), now it doesn't work on the new update 5.1 (3.1).

Oh man that is a sad news what if we recall the tablet that means no more root for us?

Well, I dont believe it either so after rooting via Kingroot I use script to get rid of Kingroot and install SuperSu, then reboot and I am done :)

So you rooted using kingroot 4.5 then used flashify to get recovery and flashed super user. Where did you get the script to remove kingroot, or is that built into superuser? Thanks in advance, last time I unlocked boot loader but I am being lazy and would rather not

What I did was root with Kingroot, flash TWRP with Flashify, then I installed SU 2.49 - BETA and that did find Kingroot and try to remove it. But it kept taking forever so I am not sure what happened. Just to be sure, I downloaded the full 5.1.1 OTA and then deleted the Kingroot stuff from the sdcard parititon. Went into TWRP, did a backup just in case, wiped system/data/cache/davlik and flashed the full OTA. Then went back into TWRP and flashed SuperSU 2.49. This time Supoer SU didn't find Kingroot. I did a search of the filesystem with Root Explorer looking for "king" and all it found were things with "king" in the word so it looks like its gone.

My shield is running 5.1..1. I tried kingroot 4.5, since others have reported success and now my tablet won't boot past the nvidia screen. Anyone else encountered this issue?

I did not run it on 5.1.1 but if it won't boot you may need to flash a factory image to get back up and running.

Did the tablet reboot while kingroot was running and not boot? Did you try holding power off for 10 seconds then power on?

Kingroot failed ( possible brick)

updated to get RMA ( confirmed Y01) battery. tried rooting it using kingsroot v4 .5.0.722. Launched apk on tablet it said to try rooting it did so restarted and froze on logo screen. Turned off and on again still stuck. Turned off and now it won't turn on. it was @ 80% battery capacity. I have windows 10 when I try to connect I get the sound that it's connected but it doesn't show up on my PC. tried the power+low volume button still no effect, tried turning on no effect. How screwed am I?

Are you sure it wasn't broken by nvidia recall program?

Anyway, one Nvidia shield I had sometimes would not turn ON no matter what, charging wouldn't show anything either, and after a few time the shield simply started working again (it was fully stock, not related to Kingroot either).

    Worked for me too.

First three times the operation was unsucessful and the tablet rebooted itself, but then I remember to activate USB depuration and that was it! Rooted at Last.
