Im on 5.1.1 and rooted using this method, but I just want to go back to stock so I can get the OTA for marshmallow. How do I go about doing this?

Omfg please help.

Okay, So I'm outside and my phone freezes up, I restart it and it now when it boots all i see is an error saying Unfortunately, System UI has stopped.
I've tried to boot into recovery, doesn't work, and no matter what else I do I cant get past this error. Please help, I'm using the v10 as my main phone and it's a huge hassle not having a phone.

First off, you can't get to recovery? You don't have TWRP, at least I don't think so just regular factory reset recovery? Sounds like you may need to reflash TOT, easiest way imo. Back up data, wipe and reflash. ez pz lemon squeezy ;)

Rememeber how you first flashed the rooted TOT? Just go back to that program and flash the TOT again, if you still have it. First go into download mode, connect USB to PC, and then LGUP should see your phone. Flash rooted TOT again. Oh you meant backup? Ah. That im not too sure about.

OH NVM, when you root, chose the refurbish option (I believe and it should keep userdata)

I believe the refurbish setting removes all my data.... That's the setting I used to root. The thing is I was in the middle of a conversation with a girl when it happened and I know she sent me a couple texts, but I just dont know what they said. I don't care about the apps or anything, I just wanted to back up my messages...

*Sigh* too late, I just started flashing the root file just cause I need my phone to function. Will update here if it works/doesn't work.

Lol, thanks for helping anyways. I'm probably just going to go back to stock after I get the phone working.

Yup, phone works now. But all data was wiped. At least I can use my phone now lol.

---------- Post added at 02:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:09 AM ----------

Now how might I go about unrooting the phone to update to MM?

To go back to stock do I just use the file you posted earlier? I had to use the mirror, the file is called web_h90021w_00_0921.kdz This is correct right?

Yes it is correct. But if you flash it, you cannot root until we find root for Marshmallow, as that is the Marshmallow KDZ. If you want root at another time, I would recommend flashing 5.1.1 again. But 6.0.1 is more secure.

AT&T LG V10 H900 Marshmallow Unlocking Bootloader Solution?

Hi All,

I came across this website that claims to be able to unlock bootloader for this stupid model. Is it legit? And if it is, can we finally root the AT&T LG V10 H900?

I am new to this forum, so it doesn't allow me to paste a link, but just type "Unlocking Bootloader LG V10 6.0 And 6.0.1 Marshmallow" and you should see a website that has instructions to specifically unlock bootloader for LG V10 on Marshmallow.

I do hope that this could lead to some method of rooting the AT&T LG V10 H900 model. Please keep this alive.

Cheers

ZvNexus, our awesome leader. I humbly ask if there's any hope for us now that that file is in our hands. You mentioned a few posts back that you wanted to check that file.

Are those of us on MM still unable to flash back to LP to root?
Did getting this file give us any hope of progress or a way to try to flash back, root, and recover if it fails?

I ask humbly and respectfuly.

@ZVNexus are you able to repack partitions into a tot to be flashed in LGUP?

I Ask because on the v20 we got auserdebug firmware but no way to repack.. if you can please pm me!
No.... it is just sadly not that simple. I believe LG themselves are really the only ones who can do it. Im sure there is SOMEONE but I am not that person sadly.

Using the knowledge I have, I would be lead to believe yes, even if you get a TOT anti rollback error after flashing back to LP, for those people who did it being uninformed eons ago, yes they can use this file to restore from a brick. To go BACK to LP? Nope.

ZV..thank you for helping always. The standing order is that those of us on MM are not able to flash the LP rooted file because it leads to a boot loop and a bricked device. Now, there's this stock file available, and so my question asked what that means for us.
Do we now have a way to attempt the flash of the LP rooted file, and if it fails, we can use this new file to return to stock safely?

I'm sorry for the redundancy, but I'm trying to understand and spell out what our options are now that this new file has surfaced. Can we attempt to root with a safe way to return to a working phone?
