I get this flickering issue. How did you fix it? Restoring the original rom in the second post?

I did the same and used the t210 ROM in a t210r. Did you try flashing the t210r after restoring the device?

Thanks!

EDIT: restored original firmware via Keis and flickering is gone. Haven't tried the t210r rooted rom yet. Will update here when if I try it.

Having the same flickering problem howd u fix ?

sadly i wasnt able to fix it but the problem is ours is a different model number, which has problems with this rom or w.e you wanna call it, ive tested it out many many times but just when i thought i fixed it (Root with normal screen) i let the screen settle then turned it back on no vice, -__- its basically telling us we are **** out of luck but i have yet to try the universal root, but thats scary lol because i can't even read chinese

Try the 210R rom. You may get the flickering display issue. If that happens you can follow the procedure to restore original fir.ware via Keis.

If it works, let us know! ;)

this won't work its the rom itself, for our build number model, which i researched for like 8 hrs in google etc, were basically out of luck for now until someone releases a current usa rom, and backup of our rom thats built into this one, samsung is basically telling us dont root me,

Yeah well... I guess I won't root it then for now. I wanted to root it to be able to configure the language as portuguese. It only has a few languages in the settings. I'm fine with english, but I bought this for someone else and he doesn't speak any english. He is currently using it with spanish language, but it's not the same.

I guess this will be his opportunity to learn some new stuff. Hehehe

Is this the same problem with the filckering here at my T210?
Flickering is only visible for about half of a sec and shows up at irregular intervals.

I don't used this method... I flashed cwm, then the crash rom, and then the rocket tab rom.. because it's buils on a T210 firmware.

I hope there will be a fix soon.

I have the T210 and sometimes a very very short flicker/jittering... mostly I can see this only if I look at an icon description on the homescreen or if I'am reading a text. So did we talk about the same flickering problem?

i wouldn't worry about it if its short, but usually using developing options and check turn off hardware overlays, and just check it that should fix the problem, or just play around with it, but this method i posted also works with T210 also, might as well stock rom or you prefer to use custom rom which works with this method because of the kernal fix

I just got my samsung tab 3 7.0. I am used to the Google Nexus 7 unlocking and fastboot from my Mac terminal to unlock and flash TWRP and other images, even bootloader stock images when google has updates,

How does ODIN makes things different? Is ODIN the fastboot equivalent? Is ODIN on the samsung the actual bootloader and is unlocked and how? Is it done during this procedure of flashing through ODIN?

I am trying to see what the similarities are in the procedure with ODIN versus FASTBOOT.

And one more thing the BINARY COUNT. Where is that displayed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0? Can it be reset safely while on a current custom rom or going back to a stock rom? I know there is a tool that will let you do this if the binary counter is even on this model?

Thanks

Odin is a windows exe application. It is used to flash images/roms in the device via download mode(vol down+home+power button). Actullay there is no unlocking bootloaders on a samsung device . Its kinda like fastboot except that ODIN.exe needs to be launched in PC and the phone is needed to be connected to pc via usb cable and rebooted to download mode.

The Flash counter is shown in download mode when u flash something through ODIN. Even if u go back to stock rom the flash counter it will be still shown. Triangle Away is used to reset flash counter but as of now the app does not support this tab.

Thanks for answering my post. Does flashing the recovery in ODIN change the count? So if it does not then what is best to do is flash from TWRP or CWR all ROms etc. I have to assume its the actually roms that change the count if flashed in ODIN and not the actual recovery image partition?

Thanks

As I said the flash count is raised when something is flashed through ODIN. Flashing custom roms through recovery does not raise this count. If u want to flash root and cwm without using odin I suggest you use the stock recovery to flash cwm then flash root zip through cwm.

Thanks again. The weird thing about this I flashed the TWRP through ODIN and there is no count just custom.

screen flickering

Hi. Just finished this and now my screen is flickering really bad. I may have unplugged it too early? I tried reflashing the rom and it did not change anything. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks.

Listen everyone....

There is no need to use this method anymore. This is based off an older firmware. We are all very grateful to Jamison for giving us this method, but it is no longer necessary.

If you want to root your tablet, install a custom recovery and then use it to flash the root.zip provided in the recovery threads.

Please stop using this method and do not post in this thread. Let this thread die so others will not be tempted to use this method.

No Custom Recovery?

Just got my tab. I've googled this, read and searched some threads, but after using Odin to install TWRP , I still have no custom recovery. On my tab, I have to do home, button up and power to get to recovery, and it is still the standard Android one. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Uncheck auto-reboot in odin and when it is done reboot directly to recovery see if this works

While it is uploading here is the info. We have been working on making a custom recovery. No luck. Close but not there yet. So I decided to make a pre-rooted firmware you can flash through Odin. Works perfectly. The firmware I used was for the UK version. Funny enough stock the kernel is unsecure. Anyways it is the whole firmware so it is about 1.1-1.2 gigs. Uploading to me Dev-host.

    Code:
    #include
    /*
    * Your warranty is now void.
    *
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
    */

By using the rom you agree with the above terms!

    Instructions:
    • Download firmware
    • Download Odin - Link here
    • Boot into download. (either hold power and volume down or do adb reboot download)
    • Click on PDA and then find prerooted.tar.md5
    • MAKE SURE RE-PARTITION IS NOT CHECKED!!! You will have an instant brick! You have been warned.
    • Click start and wait.
    • once done it will reboot into (stock) recovery and finish installing.
    • Once done and booted just open SuperSU and update the binary. Not by CWM but the other.
    • Done. Enjoy!

No, something is missing. It was successful but won't boot into recovery. I am going to talk to some developer buddies and see what they say.

Sent from my dark hole called an office.

For those of you experiencing the same issues I found with Downloads, esp. the lame Upload.net here are the links for all the software you need:

Latest Samsung Drivers for Windows (I'm using Win7 x64 and they work fine):
    https://androidfirmwares.net/Tools/Download/9

    Latest ADB and Fastboot:
    http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#download

A solid link to Odin 3.7z

    Enjoy All!!!!

Here is a great guide to using Odin if you are new to Samsung as I am:

    And of course

    Rooted firmware - http://d-h.st/leL

Which works exceedingly well. Thanks to Jamison, great work!
