Received an email from ASUS support today:

"As your case, we regret to inform you that ASUS has not official information about release unlock bootloader for your device. Therefore, I am unable to inform when unlock bootloader tool will be released. Your concerns will be forwarded to relative department. Please stay tuned for more news on our support website.

Same response i got pretty much, though the person said you will void your warranty.... eh i'm hoping this comes out really soon, asus need to look at the zentalk fourms and notice how many people are requesting.... the second this happens, tell every devolper out there to start creating custom roms to make it better.

That's a bummer....I was torn between this and the axon 7 but no root/bootloader unlock kinda makes my decision easier....

There's no reason for ASUS not to release the tool for the Deluxe if they already did so for the regular ZF3 & the Ultra or Max.
Be patient.

Just tried Kingroot and it fails to find an exploit that works on the phone, so that is out of the question.

Plus, our bootloader is still locked, so the root most likely wouldn't stick unless it was a systemless root.

Yeah there is really nothing we can do here, unless we keep on e-mail Asus support with what we want. Word of mouth will add up and hopefully get a pushed.

Hey, can you provide email or link on how to get a hold of ASUS. I found an email link under their support tab but am not sure if that is the right place. If it is, then I have done my part in requesting ASUS to provide the unlock tool for the bootloader. I will follow-up my email with a call. Just want to help and do my part. Thanks.

That link says Zenfone 3, but I highly doubt it's for our phone, let alone the whole Zenfone 3 line. If you had continued on that process, you would have probably bricked your phone.

That what i thought, but i do want to show you how far i got at least, just can't do anymore then this.

I have a ZS570KL, had a bit of a look tonight:

Enabled developer options, and then debugging.
Connected to ADB, rebooted to bootloader/fastboot
Majority of fastboot commands re: unlocking dont seem to be enabled.

This is the known V20 exploit, & it's required to have an unlocked bootloader, which we do not have at this point (yet).

I read somewhere (can't find the thread anymore) that changing to selinux to permissive would suffice.

Hey, just went onto ASUS global website and saw that there is an unlock bootloader utility for the ZS550KL (updated 11-Nov-2016) but not one for the ZS570KL. Does this matter, since both phones are "Deluxe"? If not, any assistance to unlock bootloader and root the ZS570KL. Thanks!

This is good news I wonder why nobody has said anything about the deluxe unlock bootloader tool yet. Link is below. I guess not many people are interested in this phone. Hopefully Asus will have the unlock tool for the special edition model soon.

i guess it's time to take a risk, but we need to becareful here.

Keep in mind it's 5.5, not 5.7 , so it's not out for the bigger phones yet, just 5.5. If we get people testing for that version and see what happens from there.
