OTA Update Malfunction?

After a soft brick, I did the new VZW OTA update. This app used to work but now it fails, "version of device not compatible..." -at least it didn't try to push root and soft brick it. Anybody know how to root after the latest OTA?

Root appeared successful. Phone doesn't load

I rooted my SM-N900V (unlocked Verizon Note 3) using this root, and it appeared successful.

When the phone reboots, it says "custom" and has an open lock logo. After that, it changes to a red Verizon screen, and never boots up.
To repair, I rebooted the phone into recovery mode, wiped the cache partition, and rebooted the phone.
Then, when I rebooted the phone, I have the same problem.
What can I do to get my phone back? This is my first time rooting.

Thanks.

Go and get any of the OB6/OF1/PL1 factory firmware (for the SM-N900V) from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin. Note that you will lose 100% of the content on your phone doing this..

If you don't know what that means, use the search function. You might need to register on the Sammobile.com site to download firmware, but you could use a working but throwaway e-mail address if you don't want to give out your day-to-day email address.

good luck.

PS "red verizon screen" could mean a number of things, your description is a bit ambiguous. There is a Verizon screen warning about unauthorized software which occurs if the boot partition is modified before the bootloader is unlocked - which would indicate that the rooting might have worked (sort of), or alternately: all this method did was to bollux things up so that the Android bootstrapping process stalls or "boot loops". The latter case would be just a Verizon logo on a red background (with no warning messages)

I get a msg (process system isn't responding)my phone is trashed and keeps restarting with no luck of working etc...

Why would you put batter in your phone? Was it cake or cookie batter?

I would like to try this. I have a Verizon note 3 but the android version 5.0 - has a software version N900VVSEPL 1 - Configuration version B13.SAM.SMN900V.0. I want to get all the Verizon B.S. out of the phone then install roms on it. Is it possibile ?

I'm very confused. I'm in a unique situation and I'm deeply confused. I have a Cid 15 verizon note 3. I already unlocked the bootloader. I was having issues with getting service on all aosp and stock based Roms, it was very weird to me. Sim was detected, the base band was detected and it read my phone number but yet it refused to connect to verizon. So I did a full flash to pl1 and didnt know that it reset the boot loader, I didnt even know it did that, LESSON LEARNED. so I downgraded to OF1 and now I can't root the damn thing even with Yemen?!!!??? Im so confused!!!!!!

Make sure you're in developer mode and USB debugging is turned on. That yemen tool is the only savior to root the stupid Note 3 n900v.. and it has to be on OF1. And yeah it sucks if you flash to stock, you will have to unlock bootloader all over again which is a pain in the ass.

I got it fixed awhile back but I still have issues with Verizon on custom Roms, but Verizon has always had issues with custom roms and root access.
