it does work if you are able to locate latest combo on same rev ur currently on.. that said not sure if this root is what ur looking forcas it would put you on a tweaked setup with 80% battery and on older system etc.. there isnt really any good custom roms that I am aware of.
Thanks. I should probably upgrade then. Is the note 10 plus still a worthy upgrade in 2021?it does work if you are able to locate latest combo on same rev ur currently on.. that said not sure if this root is what ur looking forcas it would put you on a tweaked setup with 80% battery and on older system etc.. there isnt really any good custom roms that I am aware of.
thats one of the listed bugs so fp will likely not workI've got a N960U1 that I've been using with the original stock Oreo firmware and never let it update. I REALLY like the fingerprint unlock (despise face recognition) will this root make it so that I can't fingerprint unlock? It says it in the guide but I just wanted to confirm it. That's a deal breaker for me, even if I get free yt via magisk.
Thank you for your help.
i dont know what u mean.. it sounds like ur using regular odin so its not verifying the firmware.. use modified odib so it doesnt require md5 checks
You need a combo firmware at the same rev as your bootloader as far as I know. Rev. 7 combo was just released the beginning of this month.
Try in ime keypad or w.e its called to dial *#9900# then select audiocore debug then I think it is something called utils.. you should see a place to type a command itll say adb command or something.. in that line put: chmod -R 0777 / then press send.. then try to run the script again
Hello! I would like to root my Note9 N960U so that I may use an app called DiskDigger to recover older files. After some research, it seems that even after rooting your device, all data is wiped? Not to mention the potential of breaking (bricking?) your phone. One of the responses above says that if this is my only device , then I should not root this phone; so are there any alternatives out there? Please and thank you.
@elliwigy , hope you realize not all of us here at XDA are as blind to their entitlement. I don't dare quote the person in question, but I for one, appreciate everything you have brought here to us and furthermore what you've done for our community as a whole.
You my good sir, rock. Like a boulder.
