Darren. Your all over the place. Slow down! Read, read, read. Hansoon's one click is the method that would probably work best for you. I like you're enthusiasm. honestly would you respond to a full tilt post post post post when they should read read read. I don't want to see you brick you phone so pm me and I can help you out tomorrow a little.

Can someone please answer if doing this method unlocks the bootloader? And, is the warranty voided if I root the phone but don't unlock the bootloader?

Depends on what carrier, Hboot you have. And you cannot root without unlocking you bootloader. It "may" void your warranty.

Really annoyed. Am I really the only one even working and attempting to get an exploit going for the AT&T HTC One X with 3.18.5 with hboot 2.14?

What dev other than the one I am working with is on the case? You can send me a private message if you're worried about everyone flooding that person with questions

I don't know which dev exactly but like with 2.20 it was someone whho was working with what he had and found it..someone who I believe didn't participate in the root thread

Hi, in the thread title it also says "Others". Now I know variations of this question have been asked before, but I have a German O2 HTC One X(I assume International version) with Android 4.1.1; will I be able to root it with this one click program?
I know this is the AT&T board, but this thread was linked to in the "Root" tab on the HTC One X board, so I guess I can ask here.

Thanks in advance :)

i cant root my one xl, on instruction " Download the root.zip file", it directed me to a link to dload onxr, i did it, but it wont root, im on evita s-on hboot 2.14. is the onxr for older hboot?

Instructions

Download and install the HTC mobile phone drivers. [Windows]
"" Download the root.zip file. "" (the link direct me to dload onxr), failed here...
Extract root.zip into a directory on your computer.
Plug your HTC One X into your computer via USB. Recommended: Plug your device’s USB cable into the back of your computer if you’re using a desktop PC.
Enable USB Debugging on your HTC One X. Settings >> Developer Options >>USB debugging (checked)
Double click root.bat/root-linux.sh/root-mac.sh to run the script.
Congratulations! Your device will reboot a number of times and then you will have full root access.

    Who do I thank?
Don't thank me. Thank sparkym3 for this exploit. Thank crisis187 for testing it out first! Thanks viperboy for the primetime tool!
Linux/Mac untested. Should be working now. Let me know if there are problems.

    Tips:

-Disable HTC Sync when you do this
-Make sure the port is open
    -kill existing ADB.exe processes

otherwise you can get adb server out of date messages and a few other errors

Another quick question (and maybe something that should be mentioned in the OP for other folks), does this reset the device? Any backup of settings/apps needs to be done prior?

    No it does not.

Edit: heading to bed (5:36 AM) so I'll be up in 8 or so hours for more questions and support.

Should already do that with adb kill-server command.
