ROOT! Please help!

I'm stuck in a huge problem.
I have the samsung galaxy captivate (obviously) and i want to root it. BUT the usb/charging port doesn't work. So that means i can't use Odin or anything.. and i cant use z4root to root it because it's a non-market app and to sideload it i would need a usb cord.

Any ideas on rooting it? Thank you..

Just take the memory card out, place it into a card reader or SD adapter, and load it on with your laptop

Will that work for odin or side loading or.. ?

Not sure about ODIN, but you can side load apk files that way

How? At&t blocks non-market apps though..

In your settings, security, you should have a option to allow non-market apps.

Yes... but only on 2.3.5. OP, what stock firmware are you currently on? It makes a huge difference. 2.2 and up will require use of the USB port.

Nope I think... You can side load apps in. 2.2 also. Please try it. It will work
