1) just know about 2.6.x of twrp, working fine. 2.7.x seems still to be in dev period

2) first flash 4.4.2 (containing bootloader update afaik) and root after

3) seems to be possible with odin but where is no reason to do that. Stock rooted 4.4.2 is wonderful, just better with root, xposed, and apps tuned to be multiwindow compatible

Thanks!

1) Have been wary of using the latest versions in the past until well tested...don't want issues with restoring nandroids, etc - will go with 2.6.x for now.

2) Just to be 100% clear, when you say flash you mean take the OTA then root. I may be mistaken, but OTA's aren't incremental are they? It should just be the latest & greatest...so don't have to update, wait for the next "push", etc.

3) I guess my main concern was with earlier external sd card issues, but by now would think most major apps have been written to work with kitkat... Also like having an "escape hatch" just in case, lol!

Again thanks for the reassurance :)

I followed the tutorial and odin says the install worked. But when i try to open SuperSU it says binaries not installed, and root checker says there is not root access.

I've never had so much difficulty rooting a device.

-Ran cfAutoRoot - both 3.09 and 3.07 - Root will not take although it did trip my Knox counter.
-Can't install custom recovery
-Can't install SU.

What is the size of of the FILENAME: p600Autoroot.7z?

Possible bad download.

Follow the post #409. There's new autoroot file. Download that and root. Update the SuperSU. Remove Knox. All good.

I just did it and got it rooted first try. Thank you for this.

Which twrp works best with this device? I got 2.7 and when I tried to wipe cache it couldn't mount cache and had to factory reset to get out of a boot loop

PIT file for Root

CF-AUTO Root
By Chainfire
Ported To the Note 10.1 (2014 edition) By:mad:BeansTown106

First off, Huge Thanks to Chainfire for coming up with AutoRoot & for his SuperSU App

Warning: I cannot be held responsible for anything you do to your phone, rooting is optional! This Does Trip The Warranty Counter Built into the Bootloader of the Note 10.1.

How To Enter Download Mode
Method 1: in command prompt or terminal on computer enter: adb reboot download
Method 2:Turn Off Tablet, Hold Volume Down + Power. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Rooting Instructions
1.Boot into Download mode (see methods above)
2.Flash autorootp600mj4.tar.md5 with Odin v3.09 (put in AP slot, don't change any other settings, click start)
3.Let it do its trick! Confirm root!
4.Reboot into download mode again and flash the stock mj4 recovery provided
That's all! Enjoy Root!

Download
FILENAME: p600Autoroot.7z(mega)

Disclaimer: when using root apps the system will try to stop you so its recommended to freeze the knox apps with titanium backup or rom toolbox!

Please Keep in Mind i dont have this tab but would LOVE to develop on it so any donations would be more than appreciated!
if you can Donate: Here it would be preffered and leave your xda username as a comment if not here works as well

If you haven't already, pick up a copy of SuperSU Pro to support Chainfire! Well worth the $2.49!
Hello! I've bought the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition few days ago. It is Exynos and P600 model. But 32GB. When I'm trying to do as instructed in step 2 it asks for PIT file and not doing anything. How can I fix it? Where is the PIT file. There is AP open only. No more choices but here it asks for PIT file.
Can somebody help me?

Just got the device, and about to root (post 409) but read that screen mirroring breaks after root. This is a know issue on S3 which there a fix for it, is there a fix for this device also? Same fix works here also?

Also, anyone try Triangle Away 3.26? Thx

Thats good to know. My tablet is running 4.4.2 and it has overheating issue and battery drains like crazy. Should I downgrade to 4.3? Is there anything I should do? If I downgrade back to 4.3 would it trip the knox status?
As this has Knox in it you CANT downgrade.
This is 1 reason why I'm reading all this and sitting here with it still in the sealed box debating to take it back to the shop and get another tablet without Knox.
Knox ruined my Galaxy S4 and dont want it to ruin my Tablet as well. Might just get a Nexus as that doesn't have any Samsung crap and bloatware.

My main concern with it having Knox is if I set it up and happy with 4.3 and I upgrade to 4.4.2 and hate it I have no choice and cant downgrade so stuck on 4.4.2.
Thats why I hate Knox. No choice of firmware even if it is official you dont get a choice and cant downgrade.

EDIT: Returned it today. Not happy with it so its now gone.
Knox ruins a great device. 4.2.2 was the last of the good Android OS's if you ask me. You have so much freedom to do whatever you like with it. As soon as they brought out Knox is when I left Samsung and now going elsewhere.
Same as when Apple brought out IOS7. Not going back to them either.

Is this true? Does it ruin screen mirroring? Because I use that a lot. Anyone have experience?

Not rooting

I'm not being able to Root my SM-P600 running Android 4.4.2. Done all to the 3rd step but still haven't Root access.
Odin 309 doesn't give any error nor it does anything out of the ordinary. What am I doing wrong?

Odin log:
<ID:0/004> recovery.img
<ID:0/004> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/004> RES OK !!
<ID:0/004> Removed!!
<ID:0/004> Remain Port .... 0
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)

Already tried 2 times (all the steps) but still it isn't rooting.

Where to download CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.tar.md5?

Hi, everyone. I have tried everywhere to look for CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.tar.md5 to root my P600.

Is it possible there is someone kind enough to tell me where I can download it? I have been searching for it for weeks.

Really need some help here, please.

Thanks.
