I had already upgraded to 283 via Sony bridge, and I am having trouble getting it to flash 230. I'm using the Kernels for S312, and the flash seems to work, but when I force Towelroot, nothing happens. The app does not open. If I manually install Towelroot and try to run it on 230, it tells me to connect to the internet first, which does not work.Thank you. Worked as a charm(after I figured out how to get in flashmode... volume down while connecting the USB).
I did the easy way. I downloaded 10.5.A.0.230 and 10.5.1.A.0.283 kernels from the links.
I already had 10.5.1.A.0.283(4.4.4) stock installed, so no need to flash the whole thing.
So, flashed 10.5.A.0.230.
Started the tablet.
rooted with towelroot/SuperSU
Flashed 10.5.1.A.0.283
Finished, rooted, and no wipe.
Do you already have 283(4.4.4) installed? if so, no need to create it. Just download the 2 kernels from the links.I' m stuck at Step 7. I downloaded .283 for SGP311 with no problem and it finished decryption. After I selected all the modules and "->" then click on "Create", nothing happened. I tried to re-create it under "Tool", same thing happened. I tried to use the 32-bit version and got the same thing. I uninstalled and re-installed flashtool and start from scratch and got the same problem. Anybody has any suggestion? Thanks.
No. I'm currently on 4.4.2 and am trying to upgrade to 4.4.4. The funny thing is, i found out that I can just choose the two kernel modules and it will proceed with create fine. Only when I choose everything, it will not create.Do you already have 283(4.4.4) installed? if so, no need to create it. Just download the 2 kernels from the links.
1. Start the device in flashmode(press volume down while connecting the USB cable).
2. Flash 4.4.2 kernel.
3. Start device
4. Force towelroot(I did the supersu version)
5. Go back to flashmode.
6. Flash 4.4.4 kernel(283)
7. Boot device.. YaaaY, you got root.
I think I am supposed to do this but there are NO instructions that show where to put the kernel files to flash it. Can I get instruction for this?Do you already have 283(4.4.4) installed? if so, no need to create it. Just download the 2 kernels from the links.

I can't get get towel root to make it rain either. I have the SGP312 and it says my phone is not supported. And then there is a weird message that says if my phone reboots, then towelroot failed.I had already upgraded to 283 via Sony bridge, and I am having trouble getting it to flash 230. Any ideas?
put them to FlashTool/firmwares/ folder.I think I am supposed to do this but there are NO instructions that show where to put the kernel files to flash it. Can I get instruction for this?
You might have posted in the wrong thread. This is no ROM, this is "just" a thread about rooting the stock software on the Xperia Z TabletHas anyone had any success with xposed installer on this rom? every time I click on a module to download it xposed installer app restarts
my apologies, let me rephrase it to make it slightly more applicable, has anyone managed to get xposed working after they have rooted using THIS method on THIS version of the stock firmware, it would only take 2 seconds to check if it works but if you still think this question doesn't belong here I will more than happily remove it.You might have posted in the wrong thread. trust me you don't know what you're missing out on, all the customization of a custom rom whilst sticking with stock. gravity box module is a must. pity I can't get it working on this version at the moment. No, sorry, My apologies.
I'll test Xposed tomorrow and get back to you. I've never used it and actually, never heard of it before. Did some googling now.
Yep. Installed Xposed framework right away after getting root. No problems installing Xposed. Also installed and activated 1 module, just took a random from the list. Installed Advanced Power Menu+ and added "reboot" to my power button menu. Thanks very much for checking, now I know its just me so time to try and try again until it works. Thanks again.
thanks very much for trying it out, clearly its a problem my end, think I will wipe everything and start again, should reduce the number of problems im having. Nice to see sony have made a bug free firmware for once, haven't seen that since 4.1ish. Thanks againNo problems installing Xposed.
