Flasher

I'm have a Sony Xperia Z 4.4.4 on 10.5.1.A.0.283 in Australia
When I used the supplied xxx.203 kernel the tablet wouldn't reboot. I used PC companion to reflash stock 4.4.4 ROM.
Now I'm trying to use flashify as described; I select all, click the -> Button then Create but no bundles form. What am I missing?
Cheers

Update:
Problem solved. Was a glitch in the program. All working well now. Thanks for the guide through the maze... :)

I think 2 of my posts might help

But mainly. Flashmode = press volume down WHILE connecting the USB
If you already have 4.4.4 (283) and don't wanna wipe.

EDIT/
I just saw that your tablet say that you got an update.
For me, I installed the update(which was for 4.3.*), then the 4.4.4 update showed up, so I had to upgrade twice. Then I did the following
/End EDIT
1. Start the device in flashmode(press volume down while connecting the USB cable).
2. Flash 4.4.2 kernel.
3. Start device
4. Force towelroot(I did the supersu version)
5. Go back to flashmode.
6. Flash 4.4.4 kernel(283)
7. Boot device.. YaaaY, you got root.
I've done this and it seemed to work, but when I start SuperSU Pro, and it asks to update the SU binary it fails (using 'normal' install) - just states that the installation failed. Help please
Edit, after a few reboots, message popped up quick, something like Superuser has restored something, still fails to install
Edit again, it worked this time, but not first time, after force towelroot it did not work, but then I (re)started the towel root app in android while using the 230 kernel and it worked. I used SuperSU 2.40 from the google store. However Avast is stating I have an infected file (towelroot), but I cannot delete it within Avast because the file cannot be located by Avast. So then I just ran a virus scan on the whole tablet, and the problem went.
I really don't like that new boot animation and sound, can anything be done about that? Are there any decent new root apps out there?

Hello guys,
I have a SGP321 device on 4.4.4 with 10.5.1.A.0.283 and I obtained root via the method from this thread.
A few days ago I received a system update for the 10.5.1.A.0.292. Can I just apply the OTA .292 update and maintain root or will that get me into trouble? :p

If not, does someone know the steps I need to take to upgrade to .292 from the .283+root version? Or is there a way just the remove the annoying "New system update available" notification?

I updated with no problem, root was still there. It's just a minor update with some bugfixes.

Hi Guys, I notice some of you was able to update the S.O. to the latest 292?
Probably because of the different recovery (TWRP) it seems I can't do it via the update centre: is someone able to help me in this ?

Thanks!

I did it exactly as stated her - three times! - but the same problem: WiFi is not working (cannot turn on wifi).
Any idea?
...now I discovered that till step 21 wifi is ok, but after flashing the kernel and reboot the problem appears. Smth wrong with kernel? Should I use .250 instead?
Obviously this is an oddity, but this also happened to me. I have SGP312 coming from stock 4.4.4, locked bootloader.

I flashed Kernel 10.5.A.0.230 for SGP312 rebooted and forced towelroot.
Waited for device to reboot, checked that root was working then powered down.
Flashed Kernel 10.5.1.A.0.283 for SGP312

And now my wifi would not turn on. I tried re-flashing, installing DualRecovery and clearing caches. No luck. Finally did a factory reset and still no wifi.

So I unlocked the bootloader, which wiped everything. Rebooted to a clean tab and still no wifi.

So I installed CM12 from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-tablet-z/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2995676

Wifi and everything is now working (except known CM12 issues, eg: GPS)

I was going to wait for the official Sony Lollipop release when ever that would have been, on well I'm there now

I'm currently on [rooted] Android 4.4.2; SGP321 Build/10.5.A.0.230....any idea if I'll loose root with this OTA update '.292? (no idea why I have 4.4.2 & everyone else has 4.4.4:confused:)

What device used and what fw were you on before doing Easy Root Tool?
The device I used is sgp311 (xperia tablet z wifi only version). I had this firmware before 10.5.1.A.0.283
I downgraded with flash tool to Kernel version 230,
I used easy root tool.
It succeded.
Since Wi-FI wasn't working, I reflashed with flash tool the correct kernel for the firmware.

All done after getting OTA update a few days ago for the 10.5.1.A.292 (UK)media-20150206.png, but was only 133Mb, though the fw wouldn't install as (I guess because) it was still on 4.4.2 as shown on my earlier post #90 The update would go to install it and ask to reboot & go to this screen DSC_0002.jpgthen reboot again but show fail when reloaded.sketch-1423225673516.jpg . Anyways, did the proprietry upgrade to 4.4.4; 10.5.1.A.292 (using Sony PCC) and had the rootable fw 10.5.A.0.230 in a backup from last year, IF ANYONE NEEDS THIS *230ftf I CAN UPLOAD IT TO MEGA, FOR ALL, as it's not available anymore from Flashtool & I didn't understand the kernel.bin file flashing that was provided here.

EDIT; must be my Linux box saves the file extension as .binsmart5.png

it's not kernel.bin, it's kernel.ftf which flashtool can flash easily.
