Same here. Expecting it in a day or two. My plan: flash a rootable KitKat ROM (if needed), root, install dual recovery & TWRP, restore my old Z2T nandroid backup. I think that gets me back where I was with the old Z2T.

Comments? Suggestions?

Well, my plan was torpedoed. Instead of an SGP511, I got an SGP561. Is there a .575 kernel for this model?

Kernel SGP521 23.5.A.0.575 (Customized UK)

Will this kernel work with firmware SGP521 RU-UA-KZ_1281-7867_23.5.A.1.291_R3D.ftf (Android 6.0.1)?
If not, could you please generate needed kernel or tell me how I could get it myself?

I'm having trouble creating the FTF file from sin files. Flashtool throws the following error. Any advice here?

Edit: Fixed by patching Flashtool from 0.9.23.1 to 0.9.23.2

If your bootloader is locked, you cannot use fastboot. Select flashmode, instead.

The kernel should be in ftf format, not sin. If you downloaded it from the OP, don't unpack it. Just rename its extensión from zíp to ftf. Or, if you happen to have a full ROM, in a Flashtool flashing session, exclude everything but the kernel. Another possibility is to use Flashtool's bundle creation function to turn your sin file into ftf.

You know that you can flash only the kernel out of a full ftf file, no? Anyway, just tick all the checkboxes in Flashtool's exclusion list, including the Misc TA ones, except the kernel checkbox.

Ok I downloaded it, now through flashtool I press first icon (lightening) and flash kernel from step 1 and follow step 2 and install supersu afterwards and that's it ? How do I flash 291 kernel without losing root afterwards? Just flash it like I did with current one and then flash supersu through recovery or something like that?
