Make sure you have the right HTC drivers installed. I got the same message until I updated the drivers.

Sounds like a driver issue. Uninstall EVERYTHING HTC on your computer, then re install the drivers in the OP. This has worked many times to fix that.

everytime i open the program it says starting ADB server, then the program closes. Everuthing is insalled and up to date. ANy ideas?
No error message? It will be hard to help out blind, but I'll try.

Yeahhhh

Try keeping your phone unplugged from the computer until it starts up. That may help.
Yeah I did. Now after the reboot of my PC, Bit defender (anti virus software) is deeming malicious software LOL. This happens to me over a week ago as well. But I just ended up using HTC unlock method. I don't know what the he'll is up

Quick Question

Used this method awhile ago and everything worked great... nice work and easy to use!!! Out of curiosity, what method do you recommend for unrooting the phone after using your method and restoring the bootloader to not say Tampered???

Thanks for the GREAT work!!!

I did NOT lose anything off of my internal SD, meaning the "phone" folder that opens up when you connect the phone to a PC using Media Sync (I do not have a physical SD card in my phone at the moment). My pictures were still in DCIM, my downloads were still in Download, and my Fresh 5 zip is still on the root of the directory waiting to be flashed. :) I assume my TitaniumBackup folder is also there waiting for me, but I have to get a file explorer to see that since MTP won't allow me to see it over my USB connection.

So thanks!
someone should probibly mention this on the opening post... a lot of us come from phones that didnt have this type of internal memory configuration, causing for us to be unsure of the results

Ohh damn man, I didn't actually think u were setting anyone up HAHA. Nah not at all. Bitdefender tends to be a little strict, if u wanna say. But even when I disabled it, this keeps closing on me. I'm lost. It's not a huge deal. It I wanted to re-root and such and run the S-Off with Linux and see how it goes. Before I do it again on my Replacement.

I previously rooted using zedomax's method. I just tried Regaw's root program because I wanted TWRP and it gets all the way down to Pushing Root Files and then an error pops up that says 'Error Remounting File System as RW.' Does anyone know how to fix this and is this step even needed since I already rooted using zedomax's method? Thanks!
In case anyone gets this (I just did), just start over. You'll go through the bootloader bit, but since the phone is already unlocked, you can hit CONTINUE on the computer and skip the rest and get right back to the reboots and pushing of Root files, worked flawlessly second time around for me.

Thanks Regaw!

The code is optimized for the specific processor architecture your computer has. You won't be able to run the x86 version on an x64 computer in the case of this rooter (because I programmed it that way) and vice versa.

Could use a little help here, not sure what I did.

Went through the whole process, everything appears to have been working fine, downloaded a ROM, through it on my SD Card (via my card reader, b/c i'm an idiot and couldn't figure out how transfer it via usb connection). Went to flash the ROM and the phone would not find it (via the install menu in the recovery screen).

Reboot to see if maybe that would work, and now i keep getting stuck at the HTC "quietly brilliant" screen, and my TWRP backup that i made half an hour ago is no where to be found (and my SD card doesn't appear to be recognized at all now). I checked with my computer, and my SD card has all of my pics and music and everything on there, so not sure what's happening.

Any idea how to get past the splash screen without a backup to go to?

You can use my RegawMOD Rebooter to get back to recovery, then go to "Mount" and make sure "Using external sdcard" is checked at the bottom. Then it should find your zip when you go to install.

I'll try it right now, thanks

*EDIT*

It sort of worked... I still can't find my backup to restore, but I can find my zips now. I'm thinking my sd card may be going, b/c it didn't work right away. Should I always be getting "unable to mount sd card" even after I mounted the external one? seems to keep popping up. I'll flash the rom I downloaded and go from there.

Thanks again!

Currently in the process of changing the downloads over to my devhost account. I will leave these links live for a few more days, but then I will remove them. Updating OP in a few with new links. Same version of the program though. This is NOT an update.
