Yeah, if I get some free time today I'll put something together. It won't be all automated though, the user will have to flash a zip separately in recovery once the rooter does as much as it can (since there is no local root exploit method available yet).
Will you be working on an updated automated method for us noobs? Or should we not be expecting that? Just want to know what to expect in the near future. Thanks for all your work

"Expect" is a funny word when it comes to releases on xda. This rooter took ~15 hours of programming to get to where it is right now. Just remember this kind of stuff takes a lot of time, especially when my focus is a great experience for the end user. I could release a crappy product that doesn't work, or looks amateur, but that's not what I want to have associated with my name. Just know that I don't always have 15+ hours of straight time to sit down and code. I am working on it, I just haven't had a lot of time lately to sit and work on this. I have a little free time tomorrow morning (Aug 5th) so I'll see what I can get done before I leave.

In the scheme of life some things are more important than others. Don't worry about any time frame. Just take care of yourself and yours. I know you do this out of desire to help others and all of us need to understand this. I will shut up now.

I fully understand. I just wanted to know for sure if we "could" be expecting it. That's all. Again, I appreciate all the time you have spent doing this.

New to LTE

So I stepped it up from my 3D and got the LTE. Used this method and wanted to thank all that had something to do with this...it was easy especially for a noob like me.

Still have a question of course...
Is this for root ONLY or do I have S-Off as well?

If I don't have S-off is it possible? and how...

Hey no worries guys, I was just trying to clarify that I don't have unlimited time always to work on things here on xda. I have a ton of projects on here as well that need updating and I am behind and a little stressed out :p

I'm working on an update for this right now, which will be smart and work for both the 1.13 and 1.22, deciding which you have and doing the proper method.

Well guys, I have owned an OG Epic, NS4G, Epic Touch 4G, and now a GNex, S3, and just got the all white Evo LTE. I have never messed with rooting an Evo but I have TeamViewer and money to offer if someone with skills is down to dial my phone in. On 1.13 by the way. About to grab necessary files. Oh , and I wasn't joking about some cash either. I want it done right. I am at [email protected]

Man, just follow the instructions in OP. It absolutely could not be easier. I would offer help they team viewer like you said, but don't have a PC with web connection. But seriously, dan made this foolproof and amazing. What's more, it's not like the S-off method where if it fails you may brick. If it fails it just doesn't finish and you need to double check your driver installation.

Dan has made this beautifully, and professionally (well, not in the getting paid sense of the word, though he should be). Anyhow, give it a shot, you got nothing to lose or worry about.
.

Dan, thanks for all you do bro.

Just got replacement phone and having trouble rooting

I went through all the steps and near the end, I get the following window:

Error Remounting Filesystem as RW

The system at this point in not rooted. I've gone through this twice. Any suggestions?

I think I need a little more info to diagnose it. What does the screen look like exactly? Is it the homescreen just without the unlock slider or anything? If so, run the rooter again and it should fix that. Your phone is stuck half in the emulation mode (the local root exploit).

if it's something else, post it here and I'll try to help out when I'm done with my rehearsal I'm on my way to.

Yes its the lock screen without the lock ring and nothing will work.

Ok, I've tried the Lazy panda unbrick and it failed, managed to get it into bootloader and flashed another rom with no change (says UI failed or something like that)

I've put stock ruu on my SD and got it into bootloader using lazy panda rooter, then unplugging it and it wont recognize the image code.

I'm at a loss, I would just bring it back to sprint but now it says unlocked and tampered.

Any suggestions?

Yeah run the rooter again and it should reset it.
I've run it 3 times.

Here's what happened. I was rooted with s-off using your methods and on mean ROM. I lost all data function and decided to run stock RUU, so I could bring it back to sprint. Everything worked flawlessly, in fact, It fixed my data problem.
A few days later I decided I wanted to root the phone again(using lazy panda) so I could get the OTA without getting the new Hboot and here I sit.

Edit: It did flash recovery, and I'm able to get into it but it is little help.
