[ROOT] RegawMOD EVO 4G LTE Rooter | Updated 01.26.13

I am trying to run the rooter. When I click "Root Me" it says it is rebooting to bootloader and even says "Done" but my phone never reboots and then the program stops responding.

I have the drivers installed, Android SDK, and .Net.

I was rooted before and recently locked and unrooted and took all the OTA updates. Now I want to root again but am getting stuck. Any thoughts?

Looks like exact same issues as me..

Everytime you see the rooter say done or waiting, you need to reboot manually.


BTW - digressing a bit here. Does anyone know how can I tell if I nuked the secure element or not ? I flashed a ROM without clearing Wallet info and can't tell now if Wallet is there or broken.. ? I was able to successfully add cards but don't know if they will work or not.

Can you elaborate? The rooter froze for me on "Rebooting to bootloader.... DONE". I held the power and vol down until the phone turned off... waited. Held power + vol down until boot loader... waited... rebooted bootloader... waited.. rebooted normally... waited... did the standard hold power > restart... waited. power + vol down x 2 (to bootloader).. waiting. Booter still frozen and every time this happens I have to reset my computer because some file from the booter stays open in some process and I don't know which so I can't end it.

It will say something like secure element not responding or similar, I don't remember the message but it pops up shortly after opening wallet. If you were able to add cards, you should be fine

Something else may be causing problems, try rebooting normally or rebooting to bootloader as soon as it says rebooting. Make sure fastboot is off in settings as well

program doesnt work on my phone. i have all the drivers and the net framework had to reboot by pressing the power button on the top and it didnt unlock. tried running the program but said it was still doing something so i restarted cpu then tried the sequence again. now phone wont restart at all when i click on the root my phone button on the program.

i have it in charge only mode. debugging is checked btw

program loads says its connected i click root and yes to continue and it says its done. phone never shut off never got token cant boot into recovery.

i have version 2.13.651.1 71ORD

any help would be great i have tried all the methods i could find on the internet and none work.

Good point! I forgot about the new RUU being posted. It wasn't available when I did mine.

Unroot
Relock
Run 2.13 RUU
then follow link to htcevohacks.com on page #107 of this thread (HTC Dev unlock/TWRP/root)

Pardon my ignorance but I'm trying to go back to stock as well to exchange my phone. I tried running several different versions of the RUU and none of them worked. could someone be kind enough to expand on the "unroot, relock" steps? I read several places in the "return to stock" thread that if you relock before running the RUU you will brick your phone. But that thread is for lazypanda s-off which I did not do, I only used regawmod rooter. thank you.

If you took the most recent OTA with Hboot 1.19, you may find relocking and running the matching RUU doesn't work. I have tried it multiple times without success.

Hopefully HTC updates the RUU.

You make sure fastboot is disabled in settings?

Also, (in general) when it gets to the 'booting to bootloader' and now has to be done manually, try either power and volume down, or maybe even just hold power for a minute, maybe the rooter will push it to bootloader once power is held.

Thanks! Please keep us posted. I just a few days ago bricked mine with hboot 1.12 that was unlocked with this method and i wanna root this replacement.... I just see so many issues and this new one is hboot 1.15, unfortunately! I'm actually trying to track down a older hboot for trade first. I don't wanna do the whole fastboot, dumlock hokey pokey forever! Lol. Thanks regaw for all your work!!!!!!

i tried this many times. the part where it recieves an email or some part like that always fails. any idea why or what i can do to have it work? this is my first root. i have the .3 software. when i can ill try it again and try to get i pic of it. any help would be wonderful. please and thank you
