Edit: Thought you were updating a fix. NVM.

I'll stay tuned for an update...thanks.
Actually, it's not going to be ready for a little while because htcdev.com blocked the functionality that my rooter used to get the unlock codes. I have to implement a new strategy, and it's still in the design process.

I'm still working on implementing the work around into my code base. Physics classes are taking up most of my free time during the week, so major developments usually only happen on the weekends, and this weekend I'm going hiking for a nice fresh air break from classes. I'll see what I can do in the next week or so however. Getting around limitations on their site is pretty challenging lol

Physics.
I know that feel.

already unlocked

If i'm unlocked is it possible to use your program and skip over the unlocking part and let it run from there to get rooted?

Do you have a link for
?

I am having connection issues with mine. When I try to update the PRL and Profile, I get an "error 1233." I was told that it was a problem with an outage in my area, but no one else is having that problem.

I am not root and currently S/ON and figured that before I took it back to sprint, I would RUU. But I get error on the RUU saying that the bootloader doesn't match, or trying to go back to older version.

Does anyone agree that S/OFF'ing it and returning back to stock with RUU would probably fix the 1233 error?

Thanks, in advance.

Not yet, but I'll probably make that an option when I update it soon.

Any luck yet on a update? I'm rooted but s-on. Ya can down grade my hboot then redo everything too get s-off but its been a while since I've had to do that for my phone or someone I help root and get s-off on there phone for them and I don't want to by chance mess up my new phone. I hate sense and want to go back to asop. And with the way I work don't have a hole lot of time.

I know ur busy. we all have lives beyond xda and other forums and not pushing just curious if u have had a chance to work on it yet. I can wait its no biggie I've done as much as I can to the stock Rom as I can do to make it run at its full potential.

Been working on the HTCdev thing, but it looks to me like you're looking for S-OFF, which isn't what this does :( This just unlocks the bootloader through HTCdev.com and then roots the device.

I am rooted and S-ON. Is S-OFF enough to apply the update? If so, how do I do S-OFF?

Thanks,
JIm

With s-off u can flash custom roms, firmware, and custom kernels. If ur rooted and do a factory update u will lose root and s-off if I'm not mistaken.. That's why most dev's remove system updates from custom roms.

Can't do custom stuff

I have been unable to install busybox, so custom ROMs are out. I did try to install the HTC update, but it failed. I guess I actually have S-OFF rather than S-ON. I guess I can reroot it after doing the update. So how do I get the official update to install?

You lose root if you take an OTA update, but you don't lose S-off.

OTA update did not work

You lose root if you take an OTA update, but you don't lose S-off.

When I do the OTA update, it reboots into clockwork recovery and then says it could not mount the OTA.zip file. I even copied it to /sdcard/update.zip and tried getting Clockwork Recovery to install that file, but it says the signature failed. So I toggled the signature check off. Then it cannot find the file.

Any suggestions?

You have to re-lock to take the OTA and don't use CWM on this device

    READ ME:
HTCDev.com has blocked access to the method I was using to automate their website.
As of right now, this method does not work due to that, but I am currently implementing a fix.
You may still download the rooter, but it WILL NOT communicate with HTCDev.com until I update it.

    Description
Please read this entire post before attempting to root/unlock!
RegawMOD EVO 4G LTE Rooter provides easy bootloader unlocking, recovery flashing, and rooting of the HTC EVO 4G LTE's stock firmware.
This rooter DOES use HTCdev.com to unlock your bootloader.
NOTE: Unlocking your bootloader erases ALL user data on the phone! Be sure to back up with Titanium or something similar!
Successful in unlocking and rooting all builds.
If you have any problems while rooting, reboot your phone completely and try again.

    What it does
    • Verifies Device and Battery Level (Needs to be charged to at least 40% before running)
    • Reboots to Bootloader and Gets Unlock Token
    • Sends Token to HTCdev.com
    • Retrieves Unlock_code.bin
    • Unlocks Bootloader
    • Flashes TWRP Recovery
    • Sends Superuser packages and busybox to device

    Usage
Before Running! - Clear your Google Wallet Settings!

    1. Run the "RegawMOD EVO 4G LTE Rooter.exe" on your computer, Enable USB Debugging in Settings > Developer options on your phone, then plug in your Evo.
    2. It will recognize that you plugged it in, and a big button that reads "ROOT ME" will appear.
    3. Follow the on screen prompts and wait until rooting is complete.

    Requirements
    Windows Computer
    HTC Drivers installed
    .NET 4.0 installed
Active Internet Connection (for communication with HTCdev.com)

In the scheme of life some things are more important than others. Don't worry about any time frame. Just take care of yourself and yours. I know you do this out of desire to help others and all of us need to understand this. I will shut up now.

    Doc

I fully understand. I just wanted to know for sure if we "could" be expecting it. That's all. Again, I appreciate all the time you have spent doing this.
Hey no worries guys, I was just trying to clarify that I don't have unlimited time always to work on things here on xda. I have a ton of projects on here as well that need updating and I am behind and a little stressed out :p

I'm working on an update for this right now, which will be smart and work for both the 1.13 and 1.22, deciding which you have and doing the proper method.

Updated to version 4.0 today. This should have ironed out the reboot issues and the HTCdev.com issues. Right now HTCdev.com is a little bit slow, just due to their server, but if you're patient and let it do it's thing, it will work.

Ok, updated the OP with a new technique. Hopefully this will get the zip pushed. Let me know if I have to do more on it.
