so i downloaded odin but when i extracted the files it just made another folder?? what do i open them with or why didnt it install or something? it was 2 gigs of data lol

Its supposed to be 2 gigs, you open them on your pc with Odin like this:

This will delete all settings and files on your internal storage

Extract the original zip file you downloaded from android file host with 7zip or Winrar. This will give you four tar.md5 files. You open the Odin program on your pc and select the four tar.md5 files as shown in the picture in my above post. Which part of this is giving you trouble exactly?

Yeah, download this file, extract all four files from inside the .zip, flash all four files with Odin simultaneously (see image below to see what I mean). This will wipe any files and settings you have saved and return the phone to factory condition, so make sure to back up anything important. Also it's a long process (5-10 minutes) and will at some point boot the phone into recovery, it's important to leave the phone plugged in and untouched, let it do its thing until it's fine and boots into kitkat

Never used odin before. Put all of the files in the appropriate areas and started it. It is sitting on setup connection. The phone is still on and nothing is changing.

Sorry I forgot you have to turn your phone off, then hold vol- and power, then reconnect the phone to the pc

Yes I have flashfire. I did read all of the instructions. I'm just wondering do I need a computer for step 7?
