Flashing a custom recovery probably caused the Knox-bit to change from 0 to 1 and according to current knowledge this is irreversible. In EU-countries this doesn't necessarily void the guarantee on the hardware.I need a help.
My steps:
- install TWRP to full wipe and format internal storage (not sure its good choice)
Why are you rooting it again?- Use odin to install latest 4.3. firmware available for my country,
- use saferoot procedure with any errors happened.
Maybe you can revert the system status back to official. Maybe by flashing the stock recovery, but I'm no expert for this.results:
custom binary download: yes (1 counts),
current binary: samsung official,
system status: custom,
knox warranty void: 1
ap swrev: a2
Can you help with it?
Whats other steps i need to make to fully wipe and bring firmware to original status with no warranty issue?
Once the Knox flag is set, you're stuck.Thx for tips.
At the moment i reinstal stock recovery and made Triangle App work - Custom: No (finaly),
But Knox flag is still 1.
Like you said - in UE i should dont worry about that counter?
Now i try to unroot phone from Super SU (full unroot and cleaning) and reinstal firmware by odin again to have clear ROM on the board.
If it's Android 4.3, you can certainly give Saferoot a try as it's likely to work and won't do anything if it doesn't work.im gonna say it here too
"HEY HEY!
i heard some russian rooted his gt 9506 android 4.3 using latest KINGO root software on pc...
apparently old one not working but new version of kingo does not trip Knox!!!!
Gonna try it now!"
So can this method root the gt 9506 using 4.3?
Anyone help me? please! wanna get really rooted
OR
This method that is posted and talked about here?
To be fair, nobody's ever demonstrated that Kingo or Vroot are actually malware. But you're right: there's almost never a reason to use them given that there are open, trustworthy rooting methods. If saferoot wont. Cf would be second choice. Then towelroot. Anything but malware..
What did the failure say? It may be that your kernel is patched.Failed on Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 on Android 4.3 (Kernel 3.0.31-2429075)
Any suggestions on how I can root this device? (Towelroot failed also)
It didn't say anything at all as I can recall. Only that it failed. What did the failure say? It may be that your kernel is patched.
All three of those things (still frozen, still deleted, messed with Knox) will cause custom and inability to take OTA upgradesI'm still getting the custom flag.
Is this because I used titanium backup to freeze or delete applications? I don't have Knox on my phone at all.
