The ftf file, only one you can flash with flashtools that im aware of
But was it the last file you flashed, you were able to install DualRecovery first on the previous ROM, flash the zip from within CWM or TWRP, power down the phone and flash the stripped FTF last.... In this specific order?

What do you mean do the root. The files have already been uploaded at the beginning of this thread. You just need to follow the instructions and flash them.
I'm using the VMo EU4 10.4.B.0.577. I have got 32GB SGP312. The ROOT method is for VMo DE. Will this root (VMo DE one) work with VMo EU4? or how can i root the VMo EU4 10.4.B.0.577?? HELP

You can use any variant that is SGP312 like your tablet. I previously flashed the German and UK version to my US tablet. No issues at all.
What does VMo EU4 stand for... Europe 4?

Yes, and i want to use the VMo EU4 stripped ftf and VMo DE root flashable. Can I or not?

OR How Can I make system.tgz from VMo EU4 to replace the one which is in the SGP312_VMo_DE_10.4.B.0.577.Root.flashable.zip???

You can use the SGP312: VMo DE GenericB 10.4.B.0.577. Just download the flashable zip and stripped FTF or you can create your own files by following Nut's guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42135099&postcount=1

I'm not sure swapping files from inside the zip will work.

As long as it is SGP312, you can flash US, German, UK ... they will all work.

Hi SBR and thanks for your great work ;)

I follow your guide but at the last step when I'm rebooting I'm stuck in a Sony logo bootloop. I red that xposed installer could cause this bootloop in the comments so I restore my 4.1.2 backup and uninstall all (xposed installer, xblast tools, gravity box and app settings).
I flashed again the SP321DE.zip with TWRP then flash the SP321DE ftf with flashtool and I'm still in a bootloop.
What can I try next? How to get my original file?
Thanking you in advance.
up plz guys

Just cooked up the files necessary for the UK unbranded SGP311 (16GB) following the guide approximately (used my own linux system and did some things a bit differently)

Amazingly enough, it actually worked! Currently running 4.3 rooted with all my data intact, and both recoveries work 100% :)

Here are the files, hopefully they can be added to the OP:

http://dl.weeaboo.com/SGP311-JB43-UK/SGP311_10.4.B.0.577_Generic_uk-ie.ftf
http://dl.weeaboo.com/SGP311-JB43-UK/system.flashable.zip

*note the ftf might not be totally stripped, be sure to tick exclude UNKNOWN when flashing
These files worked for me as well, despite some problems getting the different tools to work on Windows 8.1 64 bit. I followed the guide pretty much word for word except that I actually downgraded from 4.3 (unthinkingly installed OTA) to 4.2.2 rather than 4.2.1 - didn't seem to make any difference. Took me about three hours to get it all done though what with careful reading and understanding of instructions & posts, downloading files and installing drivers on Windows 8.1. Not the easiest rooting/flashing experience I've had but then each new machine is a whole new world.

Sorry for the question but I'm not able to choose the right guide for my device, thanks for the answers and for all your hard work.

I have root on 4.1.2 and dualrecovery now...

Hi guys. sorry for the noob question... I did search, but everything is rather confusing as I've never used an Xperia device previously.

I was on OTA 4.3 for my SGP321 Generic SG, so I followed to instructions, downgraded to 4.1.2, rooted, and installed busybox, then flashed dualrecovery.

The next part is where I am stuck. I've used the pc companion software together with the flash tool and successfully downloaded and created the FTF for SGP321 Generic SG 10.4.B.0.569.

I understand that I have to load up the flashable zip onto the SD card, flash in recovery, and then poweroff, flash the FTF (turning off some options so that it flashes as a stripped FTF) with the flashtool, then reboot without clearing cache/dalvikcache.

Is the above correct? A couple of questions:

Is this the guide to flashing my FTF as a stripped ftf?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48939794&postcount=33
How do i obtain the flashable zip? From my FTF?

Cheers and many thanks in advance,
George

PS. if someone needs this FTF, I'll upload it when I get off work.

New FTFs

--> Yes

--> Yes

--> See last line of first post for link , you need to build it yourself with your own FTF ( or flash the supplied CUSTOM DE for SGP321 in post 2 )
At one point I was convinced that this wasn't necessary and that I could use the flashable zip rootkit posted, but I went ahead and did the entire process for the heck of it.

So here you go, these are the files for generic_SG SGP321; many thanks to rootkit for the support and NUT and SBR and their guides.

Flashable zip
Stripped FTF

please add to main posts if you wish.

Thanks!

Can we use this for SGP311 US Generic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586982 by DBCabuslay, instead of the NORDIC version from the OP?

This is for US SGP311 16GB Wi-Fi (Pollux-Windy I believe?) only??
maybe if you following this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48939794&postcount=33 but it also includes the .ta stuff.

I followed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42135099&postcount=1 which also references an external guide on creating a ftf. I ended up with a SGP311_10.4.B.0.577_Generic US.stripped.ftf and SGP311_10.4.B.0.577_Generic US.zip and following page 1 directions updated to 4.3 with root. only took about an hour but I skipped the VM stuff since I am running Fedora already.

I did have a problem with twrm afterwords, it was stuck in portrait mode so I reinstalled XZDualRecovery and that fixed that.

For Other Variant

Please download the your Tablet Version and Flash it. Don't try to flash other version and Bricking your devices. I have only SGP351, Other versions are not tested by me, test yourself

SGP321: Custom DE 10.4.B.0.569:: (thanks to @Rootk1t)
Download the files here and follow the steps as mentioned from Step 2 in the First post.
Could someone give a mirror to this as it the link don't start to download.

Hi

As i just purchased this today i just want to make sure i am going to do this right, i have a UK SGP311 and stupidly upgraded to 4.3 before rooting.

so

I have downloaded the 2 files from here
SGP311: UK Unbranded 10.4.B.0.577:: thanks to @Darkimmortal
Download the files here and follow the steps as mentioned from Step 2 in the First post.

I have also downloaded flashtool and the XZ-lockeddualrecovery2.7.80-BETA.installer.zip which seems to be the latest version

The part i am not sure of is this

1. if you're in 4.3, Flash this SGP 351 4.1.2 FTF using Flash Tool and it will be booted in 4.1.2. if you have different Variant downgrade to your Variant FTF file

I cant find a SGP311 FTF file and i assume that i cant use the SGP351 file above

So can someone please let me know what to do

Thanks all

I also was on 4.3 and wanted root.

I downgraded with flashtool TFT 4.1.2 rooted with vroot.
Installed lockeddualrecovery.
Put the zip rom on SD card flashed with Philz
And flashed stripped version with flashtool.
