It didn't work for me

It didn't work for me right after flashing it I got this on boot Set warranty bit kernal (0) but I booted successfully and I got "To start up your device enter your password" and I didn't had a password set on my device But I had pin lock I tried some random passwords but it didn't work so I booted to recovery wiped data and did a factory reset after that I got bricked.

It's because you don't have the correct firmware version described in the first post.
I recommend you use this method instead, as it works on any version: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-j2-t3616589

Endless reboot loop

Hi guys,

Please help me out here. Last night I flashed my phone (Grand Prime Plus - SM-G532F0 ) using the instructions as provided here but when my phone rebooted it required a password and since I previously had a password, I assumed that was that but the phone kept rejecting it until I decided to clear cache and reset to factory but now my phone is stuck on an endless reboot loop. Please help me to recover my phone please.

Samsung g532f

I have tried everything, every root file type for odin, several different versions of odin to root samsung g532f. I have followed the instructions, downloaded usb driver files, adb drivers the works, I just cant seem to root this phone whereas everyone makes it look so easy.

Please help.

Hi Vici,

Try and download the stock ROM from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-grand-prime-prime/SM-G532F/ (chose one for your country). At the bottom of the download page (after you've registered and logged in) you will find the instructions. That's how I managed to recover my phone. The one supplied on this forum seems to be an incorrect one for this handset.

Below you will find my procedure to root the SM-G532F/G532G/SM-G532M Galaxy J2 GRAND PRIME PLUS/ Mediatek MT6737T.
This will root your device with SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742

This procedure may work for previous and future firmware releases or it may not, however it is intended for the firmware versions as posted below. If you encounter issues simply flash the stock boot image included with the download.
If an updated firmware becomes available my advice is to update with FLASHFIRE to maintain root.

    STATUS: Tested working

DISCLAIMER: YOU FLASH THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE KNOX COUNTER WILL BE TRIPPED AND WILL POTENTIALLY VOID YOUR WARANTY. HAVING THE STOCK FIRMWARE TO HAND IS ALSO ADVISED

NOTE: BEFORE MAKING MODIFICATIONS, ON SOME ANDROID 5.1.1/6.0/7.0 DEVICES IT IS NECESSARY TO GO TO:
Settings -> Developer Options -> OEM unlocking
AND ENABLE OEM UNLOCK FIRST OR YOU MAY ENCOUNTER 'BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK' WHEN FLASHING.

    Instructions:

◘ 1. Download the respective files below:

    For SM-G532F based on AQD1 firmware- root_and_boot_sm-g532f

    For SM-G532G based on AQC4 firmware - root_and_boot_sm-g532g

    For SM-G532M based on AQD2 firmware - SuperSU-v2.79-SR3_rooted_boot_sm-g532m_AQD2_31517

    ODIN 3.12

    SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones

◘ 2. Install the USB driver and ODIN to Windows.

◘ 3. Boot your device to DOWNLOAD mode then connect your USB cable.

◘ 4. Run ODIN and place either SuperSU-v2.79-SR3_rooted_boot_sm-g532f_AQD1.tar or SuperSU-v2.79-SR3_rooted_boot_sm-g532g_AQC4.tar or SuperSU-v2.79-SR3_rooted_boot_sm-g532m_AQD2_3151 as is in the AP slot. Don't change any options and hit START.

◘ 5. Wait for the device to flash and reboot.

◘ 6. Install the SuperSU apk from Play store and you should be rooted.

    ◘ 7. Have fun!;)

Hi iam on SM-G532F AQG5 will it work for me
This method is out of date.
You should use the method below.

Yeah, I'll try all of this tomorrow (your new method and this same method but with AQD2 firmware)
I'll re-root the phone the old fashioned and tedious way ;)
Let me know if you need anything else.

Damn, I've just realised why it hasn't been working. I was led to believe the Mediatek MT6737T was a 64bit SOC, however it seems Samsung have decided to run it in 32 bit mode. What a waste!
This explains why the procedure isn't working as the binaries to root are 64bit versions not 32bit. I will reupload using the correct binaries.

    EDIT: Recompiled image.

I've also pulled all the other uploads for now until I can rebuild them. Apologies to anyone that downloaded them and had issues.

EDIT: New recompiled images up and added to OP.

    No harm done.
I'm glad I was able to help test this out. You can now include that it has been tested on a G532M ;)
This is WAY easier than what I had previously.
    Thanks a bunch!
No worries Twrp next on the list.
