Do this, boot to fastboot and flash recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Or whatever you named recovery
No don't reboot with cmd, just from phone choose bootloader,
Then choose recovery, I think your OK installed ROM may be overwriting recovery at reboot

n small doubt i have flash when it was FASTBOOT or HBOOT.

cuz when i enter into bootloader i seen HBOOT.

in some sites they have mensioned that flash recovery in HBOOT.

i did both ways.. in FASTBOOT menu it showed RECOVERY flashed but nothing happened .

when i flash in HBOOT mode.. then its cmd got stuck at "sending..... _"

pls try to understand.. n waiting for ua valuble replay..

if u can link me recovery..

thanks.

When people say flash from hboot most often they are referring to flashing through fastboot, which is a mode within hboot/bootloader
Anyway, do this, get amonra's recovery, you'll find in dev section, rename it recovery.img and put it on root of SD card.
Now boot into os, download a terminal, open it up and type
su
---after this say yes grant super user permission then type
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
-----if it works type
reboot recovery
If this doesn't work you may need to installed su, busubox, and flash_image binary

Why are you using a HTC Hero Recovery? I see that the recovery you are trying to flash is recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.5-heroc-20110121.img

Download the N1's recovery here: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-passion.img
and try to flash again.

I presume your bootloader is unlocked. So goto bootloader and execute the command to flash the recovery. Let me know how it goes.

I did everything as suggested here but it Nexus Torch still doesn't have SU permissions. When Torch opens SU, it stops responding.

I had this problem too, I just keep relaunching the app until finally it worked! Make sure when you slelect Allow on the superuser permission that you check the little box!
