Hello everyone,
I would like to share with you a root tool that worked with me for Star N9500 MTK6589 and should work on most similar devices too.
Although this tool is made for Motorola it worked for me!
==============================================
INSTRUCTIONS:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.Download this file to your PC.
2.Extract the entire contents of the zip file.
3.If you are using Windows, ensure you have installed the latest MTK USB drivers available for your phone.
4.Ensure USB Debugging mode is enabled on your device.
5.If you are using Windows, navigate to the extracted directory and execute “run.bat”. If you are using Linux or OS X, navigate to the extracted directory in a terminal and execute “./run.sh”.

I tried it on a THL W7+ which couldn't root by any way, neither manually, but no success. This phone really seems unrootable, can't understand what happens

Run as administrator
i m not stupid :p thl w7+ can't be rooted until now. Nobody has released a custom rom, neither rooting method for this, instead of thl w8, neither cwm. I extracted system image, put su, supersu etc with right permissions, but supersu says it failed to update su binary. anyway, i ll try to other mtk6589 phones when i receive again

Search PDANet on Google, install it and connect your phone when it asks. After that you can use this and root your phone. Thanks for this method works perfectly.

Thank you very much :good:

I can confirm that this method + PDANet PC(will install the drivers), it will ROOT the Tronsmart TS4:victory:

I'm sorry for going O-T here, but actual hands-on experiences with the Star N9500 is hard to come by. Can anyone comment on their user experience with this phone? Especially screen quality, stability and battery life.

I'm seriously considering this one, great specs for the price - but I still need more to go on than just technical specs.

This is a reply to myself -- I rooted the phone! :)

Problem was obviously a bad / not working MTK driver. I don't know. I saw a YT video using Windows software called SnapPea, I installed it and it installed drivers by itself (as "HTC" in Hardware Manager on Win7, displayed as ZP980 in SnapPea). Then I started batch for root -- it worked.

Here are some screens to show possible errors and a result.

Obvious problem with MTK USB drivers on two different computers, different HW, but "successfully installed":

    Batch file worked now:

-Make sure you have debugging mode enabled in your phone
-Run the bat file as administrator
-Make sure all the files are in one folder
    -Try reinstalling the driver
