but i saw some people successfully rooting using this so here it is.....

So there is a nice chance that it works on tab4 too
Also some users reported it working.

Yes I did and I ignored it. Towelroot does in fact bypass Android security that's how it works.

How does a person check if Knox tripped?

Confirm it is not tripped etc.

There may be other ways but what I did was boot into the bootloader and saw that it said "KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0×0" If it says "KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0×1" that means you've tripped KNOX.

Haven't Got it to Work

Doesn't seem to work on the SM-T230NU 7.0, but I haven't tried all the modstrings yet. Has anybody else got it to work on this model? If so, care to share the modstring values used?
