Hi sparkym3,

Please help...

I followed the root instructions from http://transformerprimeroot.com/transformer-prime-root/how-to-root-transformer-prime-ics/ which apparently uses the rooting method development developed by you.

Before I used the root, I was on the .14 official update and after rooting I noticed that the .14 update made the Prime reboot every so often.

I don't think the root caused the rebooting because another friend of mine has the same problem and he has not rooted.

The thing is, I now want to UnRoot my prime because I probably have to RMA return it because the .14 rebooting.

I was wondering if I can use viperboy's ViperMod PrimeTime http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427125 to UnRoot my prime even when I used your method to Root?

In other words are the two methods compatible and I will not bootloop or brick the prime?

Please help, thank you in advance :)
Yes, I think his tool will unroot for you. You should also be able to install voodoo root keeper and i think there is an option to unroot the device.

I saw in your OP you mention an automated process. I'm guessing its that zip file attached. I lost root the other day from manually installing the .15 sent to me to test out. It erased my backup file from voodoo OTA. Is there an easy way I can use your root tool on the prime itself without needing access to a PC? PC is down ATM. I had used a relatives laptop before to use vipercontrol 4.1 to root before. They were visiting. Or is this automated process you mention still only for a PC needed connection. I wish there was an apk install or something to gain root access again. I'd appreciate any feedback.

This root method no longer works with the latest version of update. You should use the new method, mempodroid, which you may be able to work out a way to use this from the device. Otherwise, u will need a PC and u can use vipermod primetime if you would like.

Help with i9220

Hello Sparky,

I tried TPSParkyRoot.bat, and failed on a Chinese Clone MT6575 i9220 running Android 4.0.6
failed on '/data/local/tmp' - Permision denied
link failed File exists
/system/bin/sh:cannot create /data/local.prop: Permission denied
uid=2000(shell) gid=2000(shell)

Essentially, I have no write access...

Any workarounds you can suggest please ?

Thanks

I would suggest you try the debugfs method. Here is a link to the debugfs tool i created. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588
