followed your guide and rooted without any problem. you saved me :D
btw I didn't use TWRP, because I have no plan to install custom rom.

I have a little question (because I'm noob here)
* when I installed root checker app, it mentioned something about BusyBox
can someone explain about Busybox and Do I need to install it??

-Thanks guys!!

Mayby the reason is the the lack of drivers in your pc? It looks like mtp driver do not work correctly.

Try to install / reinstall mtp drivers in your pc.

What is your os in PC? Do you have win xp SP3 or above?

Twrp is useful sometimes if you want to backup your current customization, flash some additional elements or features (for example change ui on stock ROM you use) or wipe some partitions when you cannot turn on your mobile 'cause of some changes made with root.

I always want to have custom recovery. Just in case! :)

Hi.
BusyBox is a "swiss knife" (add some system commands), useful for other apps like System Cleaner 2 by Flaky.
System Cleaner 2 integrates system apps updates in system partition, to save user partition's space.
May be Link2SD also use BusyBox. It do the same as System Cleaner 2, plus remove system app you don't use (and may be other useful functions).
Have a nyce day.

You don't have to. but it is useful sometimes ;) It depends what you do with your device. Some apps that move user apps as a system apps require busybox.

the installation is very simple if you have root. Just download one of BusyBox app from play store and follow the instructions of installing BusyBox. Everything takes 5 min time.

My model is E2363
Build is 26.3.B.1.33
Android 6.0.1

My question is:

  • If I use the E2333 boot.img to root then what will be the consequence?
Will I get 26.3.A.1.33 as my build number? Does it matter?

  • Will this downgrade my android version?

  • Will both of the SIM slots work like they do?

EDIT:
I got impatient and rooted not caring for consequences :)
So here I answer my own questions :)

Firstly, Build number remained the same.
Secondly, Android version remained the same.
Third, idk I only have 1 SIM card lol, but I think it'll work.

Hey friends,
i´ve got a problem: I flashed boot.img and recovery.img as written in the first page. Then I restored the last backup und wantedt to boot into system, but the phone always boots into TWRP.
I flashed boot.img again, so it boots into system (but not into the backup!), but I can´t reach TWRP anymore...
So what can I do?

Model: E2333
bootloader unlocked
26.3.B.1.33 Firmware, I think there is no 26.3.A.1.33 for dual sim

Thanks a lot!
If your twrp is still intact then power off phone wait 5 seconds then hold volume down then power on whilst holding volume down once you see sony screen press down volume another twice .You should now see twrp recovery.
However if you have wiped it when you flashed the boot.img then go a head and flash the recovery again, the boot.img should still be intact so you still have root.

I used the cmd method for flashing both recovery and BOOT.img :)

First, unlock bootloader. (this kinda factory resets your phone)
Second, flash BOOT.img
Third, flash the recovery.
And, we are done :DD

boot img used was of E2333. You're welcome :))

I would like to know what all steps you did because I too have the same device.
Also, if you could share the links of the files you used then it would be highly appreciated. :)

The boot IMG is for marshmallow firmware (6.1) and not for lollipop (5.0) so your options are to get flashtool and do a clean with marshmallow or lollipop or download Xperia companion and select repair my device decisions decisions

Good luck
