Ok it's verified version 5 running 5.1.1 ive tried every root apk I can find. I can't get it to connect to pc so who knows...

this is only for kindle fire 1 (2011)

Hi there, I'm following all instructions but I can't get the install drivers batch file to work--in the wizard it says it's failed with a Google, Inc WINUSB driver. I've tried run anyway, but I get an error that it was unsuccessful. Windows 10, frustrated...does this work in Ubuntu?

HELP!!!

I have tried to root my kindle fire (first gen). Started off using the utility until I realized that wasn't going to work. Once the thing rebooted in fastmode, the PC no longer recognizes the driver and I can't get any driver to install. Please help!!

Help with KF ROM

Windows 7 64-bit

I have successfully rooted my first gen Kindle Fire (7.5.1) per Root Analyzer. I had to use Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v33 since KFU is broken.

I haven't been able to sucessfully install Google Play Store WITH Play Services. I have some sucess with getting apps from the Play Store, but it's still buggy.

"Kindle" shows up twice in the device manager: Portable Device and as an ADB device, so drivers are there. I've installed recommended APK's multiple times and still get "Google Play Services has Stopped", "Play Store has Stopped" and "google.process.gapps has stopped". I'm assuming what I'm installing is outdated. Ideally. I'd like to make my Kindle an Android tablet to use as a search and remote for YouTube TV and still have a Kindle app to read content.

Is there an updated thread that will help me install a new ROM on my first gen Kindle 7.5.1?

I had no idea it was Gen 2. I always thought it was one of the first ones. Can you direct me to a thread that would help me with a 2nd Generation Kindle.

Rooting has been tested with the latest update (6.3.2) and it works 100%. Be sure to have your device booted up in normal mode before running the root.
