This thread is for Xperia M4 Aqua E2303 Locked BL maybe Unlocked BL [twrp_prerooted_M4.zip] (26.1.A.3.111)

OLD [To have ROOT (on newest version), you must first Downgrade Soft to version 26.1.A.1.128 (because this method don't work on newer version like 2.167, 3.111), install ROOT, TWRP Recovery and at the end flash twrp_prerooted_M4_(XXX).zip (now newest Soft it's 26.1.A.3.111 and this is included in twrp_prerooted_M4.zip).]
NEW ↓↓↓

Remember everything you do at your own risk !!! If you bricked phone, flash E2303_26.1.A.3.111_1294-4815_R5A.ftf in Flashtool.

You must complete 2 steps: I. ROOT > II. TWRP Recovery > III. Pre Root

I. ROOT

NEW METHOD (works on 26.1.A.3.111 and lower)
1. Install lastest Flashtool.
2. Install adb-setup-1.4.3.exe on your computer.
3. On your phone go to Settings>Developer options>USB debugging and enable this option.
4. Connect your phone.
5. Extract rootkitXperia_E23xx_26.1.X.3.xxx.zip and run install.bat
7. Wait for end (phone will reboot), sometimes failed, at that time try more time.

OLD METHOD

2. Flash Stock Soft E2303_26.1.A.1.128_1293-4994_R2A.ftf Recommended: (wipe userdata and apps_log with flashing).
3. Install adb-setup-1.4.3.exe on your computer.
4. On your phone go to Settings>Developer options>USB debugging and enable this option.
5. Connect your phone.
6. Extract rootkitXperia_E23xx.zip and run install.bat
7. Wait for end (phone will reboot), sometimes failed, at that time try more time.

E2303 cannot be downgraded from 26.1.A.3.111 or other.

II. TWRP Recovery

1. Extract M4Aqua-lockedTWRP-0.1-installer.zip
2. Connect your phone (USB Debugging and ADB must be enabled, like in ROOT ↑).
3. Run install.bat
4. Wait for ADB/USB Debugging notification on your phone and click OK.
5. Wait for end.

How to boot TWRP

• Power on
• When LED light cyan, click (few times) volume-down button
• LED change magenta, and then TWRP start

Works

• Touch operation
• Mount some partition(system, data, cache, external SD, etc...)
• Backup and restore
• Install zip
• ADB access
• MTP transfer
• Various settings

Not works

• Reboot to Recovery
• /firmware mount(shown error, but no actual harm)

III. Pre Root [twrp_prerooted_M4.zip included kerel.elf and system.ext4 from E2303_26.1.A.3.111 (i will update it when new soft arrive)]

1. Put twrp_prerooted_M4_(26.1.A.3.111).zip on you internal memory or external SD.
2. Install zip on TWRP and reboot (you can wipe cache/dalvik cache).
3. If you don't have TWRP Recovery after reboot, install it again (Point II. TWRP Recovery).

Future Updates:

If you don't have TWRP Recovery after reboot install it again (Point II. TWRP Recovery).

Best thing is that you don't lose personal data updating Rom (apps, settings etc.)

1. Backup your original Home
2. Flash the New_Xperia_Home_V4c.zip via Recovery. Recommended: (wipe cache/dalvik cache).
3. Reboot (*after wipe about 20 min). Done

If anyone experience a problem with double tap to sleep, turn off and on again this feature in settings and grant permission (a pop up will appear)

*Bugs: Autororate doesn't work.

5. Go to Settings>Accounts and Remove your Google Account.
6. Reboot.

For now i don't think so but you must downgrade only once. Later updates, you only flash upgrade (twrp_prerooted_M4.zip) with new version (currently with 26.1.A.3.111). I will update it

Another reboot... Actually phone turned off completely. I was able to bring it back to life with power + volume down buttons pressed together.

I do not know I am using Poweramp patched with Lucky Patcher for Full Version and never have reboot.

Maybe try using walkman music player for a while and see if you have the same issue as I do. We could try fixing it ...
I am reflahsing prerooted firmare step by step again to see if I might did some mistake there.
