Had that problem before. I flashed to .74 instead

Sent from my D6633 using Tapatalk 2
Root on D6633 updates:
  • flash D6633_23.0.F.1.74
  • root it with giefroot
  • install a recovery of your choice (either from this thread, or NUT's)
  • download the desired firmware FTF (23.0.1.F.0.96 is the latest, btw) with FlashTool
  • create a prerooted update.zip using PRFCreator
  • get /system back as R/W as described here - using the files from the giefroot package
Note, this is essentially the method described by meetdaleet here, so I take no credit for it; I simply re-branded it for D6633 :)

EDIT: this method works for both LB and UB. I posted it here just to point out that even if you're UB, you can use this method to get the latest update before a suitable kernel+recovery is made officially available (assuming you want to have matched kernel/system, like I do :) ).
Strictly for UB, giefroot rooting / recovery installing (steps 2/3) can certainly be replaced simply flashing the boot.img provided in this thread. The method above only makes sense during the time between a new update appearing and a kernel+recovery package being released here for that kernel version.

Also. You need a rooted firmware and recovery installed, to be able to use this method; obviously, when the next update pops up, you won't have to go back to 23.0.F.1.74 if you already have rooted 23.0.1.F.0.96.

This is an UB thread. In this case there is no need for that. Just flash an insecure kernel and flash SuperSU, that's it.

SOL26

I just got this Z3 in Japan, SOL26 kddi, it has a locked bootloader, has anyone found a way to unlock it. I saw earlier in the thread someone asked for it, but it was never confirmed if it worked or not. If anyone needs any info from my phone to make this possible I'm more than willing. Thanks in advance.

need help

I can boot into fast mode but when I execute the fastboot command I just get 'waiting for device', my boot loader is unlocked and i've copied the latest SuperSU package to my internal storage, do I need to use command prompt or is there an actual fastboot command prompt? first time rooting an android device.. I'm using the d6603

You need to install the z3 drivers, just install the suite and start iy to dl the drivers i think this works

I've already got the pc suite, I installed it when I got the phone not long ago, and I'm always connecting my phone to transfer things between and to back up using the suite so I can only assume all the drivers are installed and up to date

Just to clarify I download the file that I require (the d6603 23.0.1.A.5.77)and leave it on my computer? put latest supersu zip file on to my phone, boot into fastboot, open command prompt on computer then type in 'fastboot flash boot D6603_23.0.1.A.5.77.img'? That's what I done but would just sit there waiting for device

how do i unlock my bootloader if it says
Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No Plz help!!!!
Go on the Sony website you can do it there, but you need to back up the DRM keys (or something very similar) before unlocking the bootloader.

Hmm, If it says it is not allowed then there is no way to do it. Not even on the Sony website.
