try to install drive in Mi unlocker tool, and then re-try.
You are always helpful.

I found out that I couldn't unlock because of the phone number missing in registration. However when I tried to add my phone number in Xiaomi account, their verification SMS never arrived. Spent all my 5 attempts but no SMS. So nowI got to wait another 24 hours. Oh boy...

Sorry to hijack this thread.

Is it possible to run the newest Magisk? I tried flashing but it bootloops.

Depends on the order in which it is flashed with MIUI.
I always found to install Magisk on MIUI you had to boot MIUI first at least once, then it would install fine.

Another option might be to decrypt storage after flashing MIUI before boot, then restart and try installing Magisk again.

In 10 years since I've been rooting Androids I have never seen an easier method to root as it is with method 2 of patched boot.
Not too mention that it's not very invasive root. A lot of apps cannot detect root anymore if you magisk hide them. On my 9T I was never able to use banking apps or PS remote play.

So thanks a lot Whyle.

Is flash boot enough, or is it needed to do flash boot_a and flash boot_b?

I am wondering... is there any chance that the bootloader relocks again maybe if I install an OTA? Or that's impossible to happen?

Hello, I would like to ask, how can I patch boot.img by myself? I tried the following steps: a clean system, install magisk manager, select the test version channel(v21.0), patch the boot.img, reboot to fastboot and flash it in, and it stuck in first screen(logo). Are there any details missing? K30S

Thank you *very* much for your guide, and your work in making this possible. After my 168h wait, I finally got to rooting my Mi 10T Pro today. Thanks to your work on TWRP, and thanks to your safetynet fix, you get three likes from me. One for every one of your three topics on the subject.
Love you.

I'm sorry about maybe a stupid question. I bought this phone today and I know I have to wait a week to unlock the bootloader and do the root.
But later, when I upload custom recovery and do this root, can I still easily use Xiaomi software update? OTA is unlikely to work, but is it enough to download a zip pack and install it? And will I not lose the root and custom recovery then?
And the second question. Does the fingerprint reader work after unlocking the bootloader? I'm asking because Mi Unlocker warns you that the fingerprint reader will stop working.

    UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER

    1. Sign in Mi account on you device, it requires 168 hours before unlocking bootloader.
    2. Then enter Developer options, and turn on OEM UNLOCKING.
    3. [recommend] turn off Automatic system updates, because it will lost root unconsciously as the update.
    4. Download Mi unlocker Tool(Windows), and login mi account which you have been logging.
    5. Then follow tool's steps, after unlocking you will lost all user data.
(I have tried to prevent to wipe them, but for me it isn't worked)

    Method 1: CUSTOM RECOVERY

From now, we can get root with twrp.
    TWRP Install guide: https://xdaforums.com/xiaomi-mi-10t/development/recovery-twrp-mi-10t-mi-10t-pro-t4187427

    1. boot into twrp
    2. install <magisk>.zip
      View attachment Magisk-20.4(20400).zip
    ----------------------------------------

Method 2: MAGISK PATCHED IMAGE ROOT

It will not be updated because of custom recovery, exclude on request

    ALL PATCHED BOOT FILES

    Tips:
    • Xiaomi 10T and Xiaomi 10T PRO use same firmware
    • Xiaomi 10T series are splitted in
      • Global Version (global)
      • Europe Version (eea)
      • Chinese Version (chinese)
      • Indian Version (in)
If you don't know which version you have, you can download a Terminal app and then type:
        Code:
        getprop ro.product.mod_device
    STEPS:
    1. Download correct patched boot file
IMG_20201029_140014.jpg(In my case, I need to download magisk_patched_V12.0.10.0_eea.img)
    2. Extract adb tool, in this folder press shift + right click to open the PowerShell. (Windows only)
    3. Now we can type this following command
      Code:
      ./fastboot flash boot /path/of/your/magisk_patched.img
    4. If you see, Okay, you can reboot now
      Code:
      ./fastboot reboot
    5. Finally download Magisk manager.

Thank you. I rooted successfully after unlocking bootloader
    Firmware: 12.0.10.0(QJDEUXM) - magisk_patched_V12.0.10.0_eea.img

version 12.0.18 EEA is out today. For those like me who have not yet installed twrp and want to patch the boot.img file directly. Since Magisk Manager uses the latest version to perform the patch, you can use this custom channel to be entered in the settings so as to use not magisk 21.2 but the previous version 20.4.
    Personally tested

in case of system update what will you do to keep root?

i saw Xiaomi 10T series are A-only device, so we have recovery partition. but if the device was A/B partition, we can easy to root them with Magisk Manager.

For the moment after system update, you will need computer to re-flash patched boot.

I'm still trying to make TWRP for this device...
    2
If I update to the latest update file, I guess my phone remains unlock? Right? I will just lose root. Am I correct?

If both answers is yes, I guess I would simply boot to twrp and install magisk again and everything will be OK.

Hope someone helps me with my doubts written above. Thank you.

Update. I tried to install the ota update, but it failed.
So, how do we update to the latest miui version if we have the bootloader unlocked?
it failed because you don't have stock recovery, and twrp is not yet official, so it doesn't support ota. You must have stock recovery for now for ota to work. After update, you lose root, and you (re)install magisk again, as usual and root is back... If you don't want to reflash stock recovery, you have to dirty flash big zip of update through twrp
