My usb port stopped working, and I'm currently on stock ICS. Is it possible to root without a USB connection? There's a method for international GSIIs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719, but there's no indication that this works with the I777 stock ICS firmware, and since I can't use Odin in Download mode, I'm somewhat wary about trying anything experimental.
Um...probably not a good idea. Have you tried a different cable?

You can. Copy through bluetooth file CWM.zip to external sdcard and CWM_Root_SuperSU_0.93_Busybox_1.20.1_1_.zip to internal sdcard. Go in to stock recovery and choose update from external sdcard and tap to cwm.zip. You will have onetime CWM. Go to install zip and install CWM_Root_SuperSU_0.93_Busybox_1.20.1_1_.zip.
Are you saying your USB port on your phone or your computer? If it's your phone USB how are you able to charge it? How did you get stock ICS on your phone? You might want to look at a driver issue on your comp if that's the situation? Does not sound like your phone USB port to me....
