Well when I try to root I press 3 for the tablet then nothing happens

Have you done screen timeout 10min, set unknown sources allowed and usb debugging on. On the tablet?

i did it all, yep ... but cant get adb daemon to run
i have adb driver installed ... seems to look good in hardware manager (win8 64bit) ...
but gives me no adb connection

Root worked fine for me, as it did on my Z phone. Though i lost the bootloader unlock: yes message.
From what i've read on the Z forums, this doesn't matter and you can still unlock it.
Though i dunno what this SEUS software is that they referred to in the rooting thread? Guess it's not the Sony Companion application?

This worked for me, I chose option 3.
However, having some trouble with a few root apps where it keeps asking me whether to grant access or not repeatedly even after confirming to do so

It won't work with anything past 10.1.C.0.344.
For the ones that got a successful root: How long did you have to wait on the Display test before it did anything... Seems like I'm stuck there, but I'm on the right FW (.253)...

im having the same problem here, im running the firmware 253 and that rooting method doesn't work for the tablet or the phone
, is there any other rooting method for 253 FWnot working with my xperia z tablet (USA). Will say r/m failed or something, after rebooting superuser is installed but doesn't grant su access. i'm selecting option 3 in the runme.bat
is it working on SGP312 32gb wi-fi only version. i asked because this does not have a dialer that the method needs?
