Hmm, first of all we should get you up to date on your firmware.. If you wish.. You can use flash tool and download the latest firmware for your location and reflash you phone.. or as I prefer to do it, I use flashtool to relock my bootloader and then reboot it you'll get a red triangle saying a few things and you phone turn off.. Then fire up Sony companion click on the software repair tab click the small box in the lower left corner and follow the directions on the screen. It will take a bit but it will fix your phone with the latest firmware.
now its working!, I think I forgot something in the process, anyway thanks for the help:)

I dont get it :D Replace it with what?
Did you use this method to root your device? If so go back to the same folder that has the kernel image, twrp ect.. And you will see the file that you need.. Make a backup of the file on your phone remember the permissions and replace it with the file you took from the folder, change the permissions and reboot...

Where is face unlock in nougat 252

After doing everything i end up with less feature with this procedure
As i rooted 252 but there are many stock feature are gone
But the ones i use is face unlock and voice unlock
Can anybody help me to get them back

---------- Post added at 07:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:24 AM ----------

usually xposed doesn't work! few users only have claimed that xposed is working ..
First i end up having bootloop
But then i remembered how i installed xposed in z3+
Install the suitable version of exposed according to your android version
How it is done
It is installed after you managed to install twrp and
Well just flash the xposed.zip after megisk n bloatware
Zip i mean after every zip you flashed during rooting
Then reboot to system
It will give you 1 bootloop then hold power button and volume up n down to restart manually
An there you go have a add less YouTube experience

Firstly I apologize if I'm just being dumb but, can I get a bit of clarifications on the instructions? I just feel so lost and confused :crying:

So I only want to root to nougat for pokemon go spoofing.

I got to the point where I've downgraded all the way down to 6.0 and even backed up my DRM keys even though it said my bootlocker was already unlocked just to be safe.

So at this point, do I just flash the latest nougat? Or do I flash the custom firmware from the mega download link?

The only way you can ever achieve ROOT ACCESS in Xperia X by unlocking bootloader!
obtaining root in xperias Generally means opening pendoras box which comes with so many devils in the details problems!
drmkeys gets lost
boot warning starts appearing
updates OTA gets nulified
Fido keys gets wiped too
Many sensitive apps my get hidden by google playstore since Safety net fails. and even if you obtain apk of those apps they might never work by giving you warning that device is ROOTED.

benefits of root
1. battery drain fix
2. lucky patcher patches almost all apps and modes famous user desire settings (like making youtube work in background) (whatsapp to send media above 16mb) and list goes on
3. sound boost POSSIBLE
4. CF Lumin to controll color temperature on 7.1.1 (where in 8.0.0 there is screen overlay can be triggered)
5. removing bloatware
6. with XPOSED (if it works with your X) you can mod system UI according your will

now u decide what do u wana do! ?

Hi,
First I want to thank the developer for his work and efforts
I am announcing the release of my ROM Stock Light ROM for Xperia devices you can check it here
It's a actually ROM Patch so you need to flash your firmware ftf before using it
It is very clean and debloated, customizable installation with many Xperia™ XZ2, Pixel 2 ported feautres
Latest stock rootable kernel 34.4.A.2.85 by @YasuHamed is included so don't forget to thank him for that, you can select your device during installation and decide whether you want to flash the included kernel or not .
If you want to use it please backup everything and report if face any bugs .. I might create a thread in the Xperia X forums here for it once it's confirmed to be working as I only can test on my Xperia XZ currently.

Every Great Turning point has a begining
I flashed STOCK .85,
then
1.Flashed Armoa4.1 +magisk+drmfix.Zip (for X) and ended up with BOOTLOOPS....
2. Flashed Aroma , with no magisk or drm fix, again bootloops
3. Flashed Aroma (didnt choose rooted kernel) + no magisk or drm fix then went again in to fastboot mode, flashed given Modded kernel from OT and then went again into twrp and flashed magisk + drmfix........... endedup with BOOTLOOPS

i am out of options now :)

Hi thank you for giving this a try, did you try installing without checking the buildprop tweaks? How about factory reset in TWRP before/after flashing the ROM as this should help

Edit 1 : if wiping data won't help it can be the display/audio libs that are embedded into the ROM files .. I will make them optional in next update anyway
Edit 2 :
have you tried latest update v4.2 I made the Xperia XZ2 audio + display libs optional since those are from 8xx SoC they could be not compatible with the Xperia X 6xx SoC .. so if you haven't tried give it a shot
- Uncheck XZ2 libs (Audio + Image Processing) from the setup
- Uncheck build.prop tweaks .. For any one wondering first boot shouldn't be longer than 5-15min max !

Yes I understand all the capabilities that comes with a root but I'm stuck and i want to be sure i fully understand the instructions

I've done most of whats already posted here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72141176&postcount=7

My phone already had an unlocked bootloader. From the start my bootloader was unlocked. I bought my xperia unlocked since there was no carrier for it in the US.

it appears my main issue at the time was that windows 10 wasnt allowing me to install the drivers, but that has been resolved since I did an advance restart and was able to install the fastboot drivers.

Now my issue is with the instructions. I'm unsure what to do.

2. FLASH THE LATEST ROM VIA FLASHTOOL , if DURING FLASHING you get script error then
2B. Paste 34.4.fsc from folder1 to [C:\Users\<username>\.flashTool\devices\F51XX] and try TRY flashing again.
3. boot you device in to OREO , enable USB DEBUGGING and Switchoff you device

on step two itsays to flash the latest rom. So does that mean run the flashtool in flashmode? and as for the selected rom, in my case is that going to be the last nougat firmware download?
Is this where I need to be at this point?
