If I want to unlock the bootloader I got this message. And I dont get any message on my Yoga to accept. What is wrong and what can I do?
go to developer options and make sure usb debugging is activated.
when you connect your yoga book with your pc, a message for adb connection/ usb debugging with your pc pops up.
accept it.
then you should be fine.

Thank you both. Developer option is on and USB debugging is activated. I got the message, that USB debugging is activated if I connect the Book to PC, but I can't accept anything.

hey,
then try to reset all accepted connections for usb-debugging ("usb debugging authorisierung aufheben") in developer options and connect again.
also check which type of usb connection is active ( swipe down the status bar)

Yes, I tried this also. And I did a reset of my Book. But no success. Only the message that USB debugging is connected but nothing to accept

Ok, now I got it working with the Notebook from a friend.

But I am on the next problem. After I type in "adb reboot-bootloader" I am in the fastboot mode.
Then I have to type in "fastboot flashing unlock". But after that nothing happens. In terminal I can read "waiting for device". On the book no message.

probably you've got the wrong adb driver...search the yoga book forum for this issue (i think people posted a link to a working one, i myseld used 'minimal adb and fastboot' successfully - just search here on xda for it)

Oh guys, I did everything from post one. I have installed v 10.2 via TWRP
But root checker says I have no root access.

Edit: Ok, got it to work. Seems that v 10.2 is not so good. So use the magisk uninstaller and install v 7 from first part of start post. Now root is working.

rooting worked just fine on YB1-X90F. Would like to get rid of the secure boot message (due to unlocking) on restarts, but that is way liveable to have root access. I guess SuperSU would be nice too but I'll learn to use this phh implementation for now. cheers!

You could probably re-lock the bootloader if you really wanna get rid of that message on boot... but it means you're going to have to reset your device whenever you need to change something like root or ROM's in the future :/

I normally root all my Android devices, except my TV, my shield Android TV and my Yoga Book. I don't see a reason to do it. Can you tell why it's recommendable? I normally do to remove bloat software or to install other os.
Because you'd be able to use AdAway", "Tasker, Titanium Backup, Join and all other Apps from joaomgcd for example. These are my Favorites.

Can you provide the TouchPal.apk or a way to get it? I have the same problem
Touchpal is available via Playstore but this Version isn't adfree. I fear it isn't legal to post the Adfree-APK from YogaBooks Rom. But I'm not a lawyer. You can get it legal for all devices from here. But actually I prefer Gboard and Fleksy. I don't trust Swisskey.

I deleted mine. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys, is it now working for the non-LTE version or not? I have not seen a confirmation in that thread so far.
It's working with the YB1-X90F. I used exactly the same procedure, and I even could update OTA with the "short" procedure, (using magisk unistaller. I'm using magisk 12).

Thanks. Worked for me too. Had to take a detour through the Magisk app to get root. From Installing it in TWRP root wasn't enabled yet.

Is there any benefit of locking the bootloader now again? Or should I rather leave it unlocked?
How is the process for the OTA. Did you uninstall magisk and then reinstall it again?

About the bootloader, I don't know... I don't mind to have the intel warning every boot.

Just updated to magisk v13.1. Everything seems to be working fine. (I used the most recent uninstaller for 12, and install 13.1. I don't know if it is necessary, but worked ok for me)

I can't seem to figure out how to get magisk installed can you please add a bit more detail to the instructions like how to do each installation and whether its being done from the computer or the tablet? I would really appreciate it thank you!

1. you need a pc (i assume you are running windows)

2. download the adb driver (--> see download in first post) to your pc and install them

3. on your yoga book navigate to 'developer options' and turn on ' usb debugging' (if there are no developer options, enable them by clicking 'build number' within the 'About tablet' section several times.

4. connect your yogabook with pc - a message should pop up on your yoga book. accept it.

5. in windows open a command prompt and type
Code:
adb devices
if adb drivers are working, it will list your device.

6. now unlock the bootloader on your yogabook. BE AWARE THAT UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER PERFORMS A FACTORY RESET!!!

6.1 on your tablet navigate to 'developer options' select "OEM unlocking

6.2 then, on your pc, type the following commands:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
--> it will boot your tablet in bootloader mode --> screen with robot

then type:
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
confirm it.

7. download twrp from here (to your pc) and download magisk.zip from here (to your yoga's external sdcard.)

8. in windows extract twrp.zip and navigate to the folder with its content (=recovery_twrp.img). then press shift + right mouse and 'open a windows command here'

9. again type 'adb devices' to check if your yoga book is still connected

10. then type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
your tablet should boot the bootloader

11. when the bootloader is up and running type the following
Code:
fastboot boot recovery_twrp.img
!!!if you changed the filename make sure you change it accordingly!!!

12. your tablet should boot twrp.

13. before you install magisk I suggest to make a backup.

14. then go to 'install' and let twrp install the magisk.zip

15. after flashing, reboot your device and install 'magisk manager' from playstore.

16. check root with any rootchecker. maybe you need to reboot once more.

hope it helps.
