well guys it worked!! Only other thing I had to do was remove my sim card and put it back in for it to recognize the sim.. What are some get roms/apps that are must haves.... Also, has anyone notice that the wifi is slower than LTE? My youtube and facebook takes forever to load via connected wifi... I switch to LTE and bam instant.. Running 50mbps shouldn't be that dang slow!

Newb question here guys. Does rooting your phone this way break the Knox security code like rooting the other note 3s do? Ie change that value forever?

Edit: Does root break Knox or is it just when you flash custom roms??

Coming from the gs2 and seeing how development started and evolved over time I'm sure the devs around here will come up with more reliable and stable ways to root and load new roms. As early as it is I'm really impressed a root has already been found.

I'll be watching and maybe even take a crack at it myself if I have the time.

A bit of topic, but can someone with an AT&T Note 3 post this files:

system/media/

bootsamsung.qmg
bootsamsungloop.qmg

From any AT&T Note 3... (those are the boot and shutdown animations...)

Need to root ATT N900A using Mac OS

If you can afford this phone and a mac, you can afford a pc. You dont need anything high end, go pick up a $300 laptop. Hell, if you look around, you can probably find something sub $300.

Nice dream, but I can't afford yet another device and I need to use my Mac to root the ATT note 3. I hope there is someone currently developing a procedure for this. The one made for the att note "2" using the Mac terminal app last year was perfect so it seems natural that one will be created for the note 3 very soon. I will have to wait for this with no other viable options.

You could always try running virtual box with an image from modern.ie or just use boot camp on your Mac to run windows.

Google search some of that for some options :)

Did this, didn't trip knox.

You sure it didnt? If not than that is a pretty big benefit no? As I understand it, the other root process for the other notes does trip it. Or am I wrong there?

System status custom, both knox check at 0x0. As I understood it tripping knox changes it to 0x1. It was 0x0 out of the box.

I'm assuming it takes bootloader change to trip knox

Thanks, however I don't think I have bootcamp on my Mac OS 10.5.8 and also I'd have to purchase a Windows OS. Read a VM using Mac didn't root properly either. Seems crazy to have to buy and install all that just for one use to root the ATT SM-N900A. It seems I'm stuck until the developers work to set something up. Last year ( ATT Note "2") they had a Mac routine that was up beginning October and worked brilliantly! I sure hope it comes soon. So dependent on the altruism of the expert programmers that tackle this challenge...
