I have a VZW Dev Edition on 4.4 already rooted and exposed. Is it safe to just update or is a process?

You need to basically be stock. No system changes. And you need stock recovery.

So, you can uninstall xposed, make sure you haven't removed or altered any system files, and flash the custom recovery.

Or, you can rsdlite back to stock.... The same version you have now....then IF the ota is out for your device, it will prompt you to update.

Or...you can just wait for the sbf files and flash the update with fastboot/mfastboot.

If the ota isn't out for your device yet...then there's nothing you can do but wait. ;)

I ALWAYS wait for the files and flash with fastboot. Just my preference. ;)

You need to disable Xposed and have the stock recovery. I just updated mine this morning and had twrp recovery, root, Xposed and titanium frozen apps. All I did was disable xposed and flash stock recovery back on the phone. Installed the update and re-enabled Xposed. Root remained with the update.
