Hello Everyone,

First and foremost I apologise for posting here instead of the dev forum. It looks like i havent met the post threshold.

I have an interesting predicament, I installed pre-rooted ICS using Condi's AiO tool and everything was fantastic.

Forgetting to disable the OTA updates, I accidentally clicked on the new 4.0.3 update and completed the install. Boy do i feel stupid :D

Now, my tablet shows V4.0.3 but I am still fully rooted. There are some issues and I want a clean install of HoneyComb but I am not able to downgrade. I have tried numerous times following the instructions in the DEV forum.

Has anyone come across this or am I the only lucky one?

Wow what a mess lol ;)

Anyway. If you still have root you will be able to downgrade. You will need to edit the incremental under /vendor/vendor.prop change it to something lower than the HC number say "1" will do. Then you may have to change /system/build.prop aswell (not sure if ICS checks there too).

The reason for this is when you installed OTA it changed these values to ICS for example 120410001.

After this you can downgrade to HC by flashing (preroot HC if you can first to be safe). Then using AIO under tweaks and mods please disable OTA notification to be safe.

Thats great!

I did the build.prop change when I was trying to downgrade based on the info available but was not aware of the vendor.prop file.

Going to try this tonight, thanks for the help!

Ok,

Tried when i got home and with build.prop and vendor.prop "build.incremental" values set to 1 installing signed_nbx03_001-ota-0042.001.

Still gives me the error "prohibit update as a result of checking version or base sku".

I must be missing something simple. Any ideas?

Would that be because you unit is not US???

Are you Russia by any chance. Look for your nbx03_XXX number from build.prop.

Try:

Russia

3.2.1R2 WIFI Only
http://info.update.sony.net/ST003/nbx03_042/contents/0008/signed-nbx03_042-ota-0042.002.zip

3.2.1R2 WIFI + 3G
http://info.update.sony.net/ST003/nbx03_043/contents/0002/signed-nbx03_043-ota-0042.004.zip

Or click the link in my signature to find the correct HC 3.2.1 update to match you nbx03_XXX

Good luck

I have included my build.prop, this is a unit purchased in Canada but perhaps the info has been modified in the attempts to root?

I am pretty confused at this point.

build.prop always be en-us

make sure the rom's region is same as you tablet
check region.prop inside region.zip

it will look like this
Code:
ro.sony.sku.version=27550173_25
ro.camera.sound.forced=0
ro.product.locale.language=zh
ro.product.locale.region=CN
ro.pss.gamepad.buttonmeaning=circle-enter
ro.sony.network.wwan=0
ro.sony.sku.country=China
ro.sony.sku.detailed=27550173
ro.sony.update.category_id=ST005
ro.sony.volume_limit=0
ro.sony.wm.atrac=0
ro.sony.wm.clearphase_path=SGPT1_001.LPS
ro.sony.wm.xloud_path=SGPT1_001.XLD

or you can get revovery log file,it may tell you more infomation

As i expected, the region.prop file shows Canada, i guess I am using the wrong HoneyComb package?

Code:
ro.sony.sku.version=27550104_11
ro.camera.sound.forced=0
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US
ro.pss.gamepad.buttonmeaning=cross-enter
ro.sony.network.wwan=0
ro.sony.sku.country=Canada
ro.sony.sku.detailed=27550199
ro.sony.update.category_id=ST002
ro.sony.volume_limit=0
ro.sony.wm.atrac=0
ro.sony.wm.clearphase_path=SGPT1_001.LPS

Just tried the Canada version "3.2.1R2 WIFI Only SGPT111CA/S SGPT112CA/S" with the same results, it looks like that was the first one I attempted.

Man this sounded so easy in the downgrade instructions ;)

Weird, are you able to use region changer?? Or try run canada update and after fail wait couple of mins then adb pull /tmp/

Seems your tablet is no region :silly:

That is freaking amazing, used region changer and changed it to Canada, update worked flawlessly and I am back to HC.

And here I thought I was loosing my mind! =)

Great!

Back to rooted HC, thank you for all your help. Makes me wonder how my tablet lost its region ;)
maybe your regain file is mix canada and poland

aio 4.1/files/regions/27550104_11.zip is canada region file
ro.sony.sku.version=27550104_11
ro.sony.sku.detailed=27550104

but in your file
ro.sony.sku.version=27550104_11
ro.sony.sku.detailed=27550199
27550199 is poland number

any way,your downgrade is success!

Wait, I am slightly confused, can I downgrade to Honeycomb using a different country file? I have the stock US ICS now. I would love to be able to revert back to Honeycomb and root, then apply the pre-rooted ICS.

Unless someone else has heard anything knew about root for stock ICS update? (insert crickets chirping here)

Thanks in advance.

Haha no. You need root to change region or flash an older rom. Lol
We have to wait.
